Activities at Collingtree Park Care Home
Our specialist activities staff are committed to organising a mix of activities and events for residents and the local community to get involved in, including trips out to local places of interest in our minibus and visits from entertainers and musicians. It is important to us that each individual who we support can get as much from these as they can, so we try our best to arrange activities that reflect their interests and capabilities as best as possible, and encourage them to participate in any way they can. We also encourage relatives to join in with activities and events as often as they can.
Martin Tilly-Reed
Hello, my name is Martin, I'm the activities coordinator here at Collingtree Park
My role is to ensure that our activities, outings and the entertainment we provide is stimulating and inclusive of all our residents no matter their challenges. It is important to me that our weekly calendar offers enriching experiences with music from live entertainers, visits to various locations outside the home, as well as arts and crafts tailored to individual abilities.
Getting to know our residents better is so important, and through regular family and friends’ meetings we can gain a greater understanding of their loved ones' interests and life prior to joining Collingtree Park that will make for a richer activities program to be developed.
I look forward to getting to know you, and your loved ones.
We are always open to new ideas. If you would like to get involved in any of our Life Enrichment activities or have a skill, or project you'd like to share with our residents, please click here to contact the activities team direct. New entertainers and community links are always welcome.

Life at Collingtree Park Care Home
A pub lunch and a sensory garden
We took Margaret, Peter, Doris and Graham for lunch at ‘The Grange’ pub where we were looked after by the Manager. Adele. We had a delicious lunch and Doris enjoyed a beer. Afterwards we met some people from Peak Empower, a local charity that kindly donated gift packs of lovely toiletries to residents at Collingtree Park. A big THANK YOU to them for welcoming us to their new sensory garden at Fernie Fields, in Moulton, where we enjoyed seeing and smelling the planting. To finish our day out we stopped at Abington Park for an ice-cream on the way home. A perfect end to a perfect day!
Retail therapy at Rushden Lakes
Eileen and Maureen were very excited to go on a shopping trip to Rushden Lakes, to treat themselves to some new clothes. They had a break for a bite to eat, and then did some more shopping before returning to Collingtree Park in the minibus. They loved their girls’ day out and retail therapy.
Back to the 1940s for Cream Tea Day and Armed Forces Day
We had a lovely afternoon at Collingtree Park, celebrating Armed Forces Day and National Cream Tea Day. We took a trip back to the 1940s and residents put their glad rags on to join in with the lovely Leyla as she sang songs from the 1940s and 50s. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed themselves, and the traditional cream tea with scones, jam and cream. Till We Meet Again…!
An outing to Beckworth Emporium
Gwen, Mavis, Mary and Jean were thrilled to go on a little outing in the Collingtree Park minibus, to Beckworth Emporium, where we enjoyed a walk around the garden centre and vintage shops. We stopped for a lovely tea and coffee break in the Atrium café before heading home.
Beautifully manicured nails
Evelyn, Jayne and Joan were thoroughly spoilt and enjoyed having their nails manicured at Collingtree Park. We started by soaking their hands in warm water. Then we cleaned, cut and shaped their nails. This was followed with nail polish in a colour of their choice and ended with a well earned hand massage. It was so relaxing they nearly went to sleep.
An outing to Bell Plantation
Pamela, Maureen and Eileen were very excited to go out in the Collingtree Park minibus. We visited Bell Plantation in Towcester for a little retail therapy. Pamela bought a gift for one of her grandchildren and then we enjoyed ‘Ladies do lunch’. Residents discussed all sorts of things while enjoying a light meal and said they had the most wonderful time. The weather held out while we went for a walk around the grounds and luckily we were back in the minibus before the rain and hailstones arrived.
