Activities at Collingtree Park Care Home
Our specialist activities staff are committed to organising a mix of activities and events for residents and the local community to get involved in, including trips out to local places of interest in our minibus and visits from entertainers and musicians. It is important to us that each individual who we support can get as much from these as they can, so we try our best to arrange activities that reflect their interests and capabilities as best as possible, and encourage them to participate in any way they can. We also encourage relatives to join in with activities and events as often as they can.
Martin Tilly-Reed
Hello, my name is Martin, I'm the activities coordinator here at Collingtree Park
My role is to ensure that our activities, outings and the entertainment we provide is stimulating and inclusive of all our residents no matter their challenges. It is important to me that our weekly calendar offers enriching experiences with music from live entertainers, visits to various locations outside the home, as well as arts and crafts tailored to individual abilities.
Getting to know our residents better is so important, and through regular family and friends’ meetings we can gain a greater understanding of their loved ones' interests and life prior to joining Collingtree Park that will make for a richer activities program to be developed.
I look forward to getting to know you, and your loved ones.
We are always open to new ideas. If you would like to get involved in any of our Life Enrichment activities or have a skill, or project you'd like to share with our residents, please click here to contact the activities team direct. New entertainers and community links are always welcome.

Life at Collingtree Park Care Home
Getting busy on World Bee Day
It was lovely to see Maureen, Margaret, Isobelle, Jill and Betty enjoying a craft session. They painted and decorated bumble bees for our ‘World Bee Day’ display at Collingtree Park.
A trip to Abington Park
We are over the moon that we can take residents out in the Collingtree Park minibus again. We took James and Graham to Abington Park where they enjoyed the space, fresh air and a lovely ice cream from local company, Gallone’s. We are delighted to be enjoying these simple pleasures again.
Thinking about our feathered friends
At Collingtree Park we had a quiz all about birds. This was a great way to get our memories active. All together we came up with a list of 69 bird species that we had seen or heard of, either at home or on trips to wildlife parks or holidays abroad. Noel did particularly well and was top of our class.
Enjoying fish and chips in the garden
Residents enjoyed fish and chips on Friday. Not quite beside the seaside, but it was a lovely day, and sunny enough to enjoy the lovely garden at Collingtree Park.
Enjoying a sensory walk in the garden
Residents at Collingtree Park were overjoyed to walk around our lovely garden in the sunshine, smelling the blossom and some of the flowers that are starting to spring up. We rubbed lavender between our fingers to enjoy the fragrance, and picked dandelions to blow the seeds into the wind. We laughed and chatted about our own gardens.
Cultivating some vegetables
Graham and Pamela, residents at Collingtree Park, got their hands dirty repotting some of our vegetable seedlings into larger pots. We are getting our young plants ready to deliver to the Hope Centre next week so they can plant them on in their allotment. We had a great time and Pamela, who is an excellent gardener, explained where we needed to cut the plants so they will grow and sprout out more. Thank you Pamela – we all learned something useful!
