Activities at Collingtree Park Care Home
Our specialist activities staff are committed to organising a mix of activities and events for residents and the local community to get involved in, including trips out to local places of interest in our minibus and visits from entertainers and musicians. It is important to us that each individual who we support can get as much from these as they can, so we try our best to arrange activities that reflect their interests and capabilities as best as possible, and encourage them to participate in any way they can. We also encourage relatives to join in with activities and events as often as they can.
Martin Tilly-Reed
Hello, my name is Martin, I'm the activities coordinator here at Collingtree Park
My role is to ensure that our activities, outings and the entertainment we provide is stimulating and inclusive of all our residents no matter their challenges. It is important to me that our weekly calendar offers enriching experiences with music from live entertainers, visits to various locations outside the home, as well as arts and crafts tailored to individual abilities.
Getting to know our residents better is so important, and through regular family and friends’ meetings we can gain a greater understanding of their loved ones' interests and life prior to joining Collingtree Park that will make for a richer activities program to be developed.
I look forward to getting to know you, and your loved ones.
We are always open to new ideas. If you would like to get involved in any of our Life Enrichment activities or have a skill, or project you'd like to share with our residents, please click here to contact the activities team direct. New entertainers and community links are always welcome.

Life at Collingtree Park Care Home
A beautiful display of handmade flowers
Residents at Collingtree Park really enjoyed making flower pictures on International Flower Day. With the guidance of Yvette, one of our Activities Coordinators, residents on our Memory Lane dementia community used a variety of textiles and techniques including painting, hand printing and drawing. We now have this beautiful wall display to admire.
Supporting a local charity at Christmas
This Christmas Collingtree Park supported a local community project, Earth's Lonely Angels. We were overwhelmed by donations of food, toiletries and Christmas treats from staff, families and friends of the home. Residents packed the donations in gift bags, to be distributed by the Angels to isolated and vulnerable elderly people in our community.
Remembrance Day
Collingtree Park collaborated with the local students at Caroline Chisholm School, who were only too pleased to make poppies in memory of those who fought in both WW1 & WW2, to the delight and amazement of the residents; they were overwhelmed by the thoughtfulness and time spent making individual poppies.
Halloween Celebrations
Residents enjoyed Halloween celebrations, then judging who they thought was the best dressed. It was a fun day!
World Food Day
Residents enjoyed trying different food from around the world made by our Kitchen staff. The staff also dressed up to represent different countries.
Harvest Festival
Residents had fun making the salt dough and making the bread shapes, feeling the dough in their fingers. We then went out in the garden to collect conkers and leaves, looking at all the different colours.
Our display in reception goes alongside our food collection, which we will be donating to the local church to distribute.
