Activities at Mallard Court Care Home
We provide a wide range of group activities and individual one to one activities to meet our residents needs including musical entertainers, PAT dog visits, minibus outings, themed events and much more!
We take a person centred approach when planning each individuals activities so they can achieve a feeling of self worth and well-being.
We hold monthly meetings with the residents and also regular meetings with their family and friends, discussing any ideas that they may have, and also any problems that their may have. Both of our activities coordinators, Steve and Lynne, have completed NAPA Activity Workers Level 2 Award training, and are continually seeking new ideas so we can ensure life in the home is as varied and interesting as possible. We encourage strong community links with the local schools, colleges and local charities in the community. Steve is supported also by his dogs, Tia, Pebbles and Oscar who give great pleasure to the residents in our home, and can often be seen either on a persons lap or being taken for a walk around the home. Many of the visitors that come into Mallard Court commented that it is so friendly and welcoming.
Steve Moss
Hi, my name is Steve, and I have been a Lifestyle Coordinator at Mallard Court since 2006, and have achieved the NAPA (National Association of Activity Providers) Level 2 Award in Activity Provision in the Care Sector.
We provide a wide range of activities for the people we support, as well as for their families and friends. I also love to have one-to-one chats with residents who like to reminisce about their lives over a cup of tea and some biscuits.
We have our own minibus and have fun days out sight-seeing, having a picnic or going a local pub for a drink and a meal. We also arrange for local artists to provide musical entertainment for everyone at Mallard Court.

Life at Mallard Court Care Home
The sun is shining
The sun is shining here at Mallard Court and perfect days to enjoy the garden areas, and what better way to spend some time for our residents and staff having some fun in the garden participating in various activities. Planting fresh herbs in the garden together and playing various games including Giant dominoes and Blockbuster whilst having a nice cuppa with cake and biscuits!
Residents discover the history and treasures of Hereford Cathedral
Residents had a lovely afternoon joining the team from Hereford Cathedral as they were given a glimpse of the spectacular building and its treasures as they were taken on a tour of the site.
From the stunning gardens which lead down to the River Wye, to the Mappa Mundi and Chained Library, the virtual visit shared the history and beauty of the historic building.
It was wonderful to learn more about the history and beauty of Hereford Cathedral.
Flowers bloom at Mallard Court
Here at Mallard Court in Bridlington, our residents have been getting very creative following a wonderful Flower Arranging Masterclass from #BloomingHaus who in partnership with #BloomingBarchester have created a fun competition for us to enter and try out our new skills.
We have had great fun today using new techniques and trying out new ideas and playing with colour, shape and form in our arrangements.
The inspiration for our arrangements is ‘Bygone Days’ as we reminisced with our residents about past times and childhoods, playing in fields of wild flowers, running free on our local beautiful beaches here at the seaside and the well kept gardens and parks of past times bursting with Peonies, roses, Stocks, Bluebells and rustling trees. We also added a poem we wrote with our residents that reflects this bygone era and memories they cherish.
World Bee Day
Residents had a bee-rilliant time learning about the history of bee-keeping and the importance of bees for food production, enjoying a virtual tour of a bee hive, holding a tasting of local honey, making a bee home for the garden and planting some bee friendly flowers in the garden.
Brenda, a resident said: “I have always found bees fascinating, they really are marvellous little creatures. We had such an interesting day today, I loved sampling all the local honey, and it was absolutely delicious! We also were creased up with laughter as our two Lifestyle Co-ordinators were in fancy dress as two bees!”
Former Mayoress celebrates birthday!
We celebrated a very special day this week at Mallard Court, with Resident Christine’s 8oth birthday on Thursday 13th May. Dianne Peters, General Manager was proud to present this lovely lady with her favourite flavoured birthday cake, made especially for her by the homes hospitality team.
Christine, a former Mayoress of Bridlington and well-liked and respected in our local community, was thrilled as Dianne and everyone here sang Happy Birthday to her. Christine received some beautiful cards, gifts and flowers from her family and friends.
