Activities at Meadow Park Care Home
Activities are the cornerstone of a wholesome home experience and our Activities Coordinators are always putting their creative minds to the test by organising new and exciting social events for residents to partake in. Of course, we take into account the likes and dislikes of those we support, so if someone doesn’t feel like trying something new, there will always be something on offer to reflect their personal interests. For the people who may just prefer some peace and quiet instead, we also offer one-to-one time that can be enjoyed with a nice cup of coffee or just a simple chat – whatever they desire.

Activities and Events Partnerships
As part of our bespoke life-enrichment programmes, we host a number of live virtual events in the home on a regular basis through a number of partnerships with places of interest and world class performance companies
Life at Meadow Park Care Home
Al Fresco Fun
Bob and Mina made the most of the weather at Meadow Park by eating in the garden.
These small things mean a lot to residents. Bob said this reminded him of days travelling across Europe in his caravan with his wife and eating outside regularly, specifically in Switzerland, one of their favourite places. He enjoyed talking about it with Mina.
A Double Celebration
Senior Carer on nights, Vivienne Thomson, received a commemorative badge and £250 vouchers in recognition of her 10th year at Barchester, and was also nominated for and won our Employee of the Month award for November, receiving an extra £25 worth of vouchers.
Staff said that Vivienne is very supportive to her team and very caring towards residents. She will help out during the holidays and will come in earlier if needed, without complaint. Viv also received a larger bouquet of flowers and a certificate recognising both of her achievements.
Barchester's 25th Anniversary
On Friday 27th October, we celebrated Barchester's 25th anniversary by hosting a Halloween party. We had live entertainment for residents and guests, pumpkin carving in the afternoon, a creepy cakes competition and a raffle. In total, we managed to raise £160 for the residents' social fund.
A number of staff members, loved ones and a couple of residents dressed up for the day, including the General Manager, who was the clown.
Care Home Open Day
Our Care Home Open Day was a successful and, most of all, enjoyable day. Our three elected ambassadors (show above) organised and helped to promote the excellent services provided at Meadow Park Care Home.
Residents, staff members and guests were also treated to refreshments, dancing and live musical entertainment.
Santa's Grotto
Santa's grotto found its way into Meadow Park recently - doesn't it look amazing?
We are one of the first to receive a new dementia care accreditation!
Meadow Park has achieved accreditation for a new standard of dementia care after taking part in a 10 month pilot trialling a new programme developed by dementia care specialists at Barchester Healthcare.
The 10-60-6 dementia programme will replace Barchester's current dementia care programme in order to ensure that the care services provided by our Memory Lane communities for people living with dementia are the best in the sector.
A certificate and trophy were presented to us at a celebratory lunch on 15th August. The presentations were opened by Martin Green who is the Chief Executive of Care England, the largest representative body for independent social care services in the UK.
