Activities at Pittsmead Grange Care Home
Activities are an integral part of life at our care home. We want to ensure that the people we support have as much fun as possible during their time with us, so it’s important that our activities programme is created with the interests of residents in mind. Our skilled Activities Coordinators bring a certain uniqueness to the home that can’t be found anywhere else, and which is reflected in the activities they organise.

Hello, my name is Debbie and I am the Activities Co-ordinator at Pittsmead Grange.
This is my first time working for Barchester, I am so excited to be part of such a wonderful team and experience the growth of our beautiful home. Throughout my career I have worked in sports and entertainment including coaching a team of budding athletes. I also have a history of working as an entertainments manager for both Warner and Haven Holidays.
I am really looking forward to supporting our residents in living a full and enriched life every single day in our home.

Activities and Events Partnerships
As part of our bespoke life-enrichment programmes, we host a number of live virtual events in the home on a regular basis through a number of partnerships with places of interest and world class performance companies
Life at Pittsmead Grange Care Home
Cheese and Wine for the neighbours
We recently put on a cheese and wine evening for over 20 of our local neighbours to thank them for being so patient with us as we built the home. They were also able to celebrate the upcoming opening of the home with us.
We also wanted them to be the first to have a 'sneak peek' at the home before our wonderful residents move in.
One neighbour in particular stole the show. Daisy the cat lives behind our home and she couldn't resist the smell of cheese and to have a nosy at where one of her owners had come for the evening.
Our first event
Our Kitchen team gave a spectacular performance for their first private event at the home.
We hosted Cole Financial Associates who came to meet our residents and their loved ones that are booked to move in to Pittsmead Grange when we open.
They gave a detailed information session that was beneficial to all and we provided the delicious food and drinks.

Team Training
We are at the very exciting stage of team training at Pittsmead Grange. Prior to our opening, the team go through a training period where they learn all they need to carry out their roles safely and effectively.
It is also a great time for them to bond and forge working relationships that will support them in their roles at the home.
Here you can see some of the team doing their manual handling training, it is always better to be hands on with this sort of thing!
Our beautiful gardens
We have the most wonderful, private gardens at Pittsmead Grange that have been landscaped specifically with the residents in mind.
There is a low-risk walkway that runs round the gardens making it easy for people with all types of mobility to get around safely.
We have raised planters to make it easier for our residents to be involved with tending to the gardens and planting herbs and vegetables.
There is also lots of seating placed around so that residents and their loved ones can enjoy the outdoor space that we have at a leisurely pace. Soaking up the colours, smells and sunshine as they go.
Our very first Employee of the Month
A big congratulations to Anita who is part of our housekeeping team. Already, Anita has shown dedication and team work and has worked hard daily to support with getting our home ready for our first residents in August.

We have the Keys
There was a real buzz in the air as John was handed the keys to his beautiful new home. As the finishing touches are made and the design team work their magic to transform the building into a place residents want to call home. We just cant wait to start our journey for those that choose Pittsmead Grange.
