Activities at Plas-Y-Dderwen Care Home
At Plas-Y-Dderwen Care Home, our Lifestyle/Activities staff endeavour to provide a wide range of activities that suit all residents' physical and mental needs. There are regular minibus trips to nearby places of interest, including visits to local beaches and shows. We also have a film club, gentlemen's club, arts and crafts club, with musical entertainment once a week. Activities are very important to the staff of Plas-Y-Dderwen, making the home a fun and active place for all the residents who live here.
Lisa Peart
Hello, I am Lisa and I have recently joined the team at Plas y Dderwen. I have worked in the care sector since 2009 and I have a passion for working with people.
Although I am new to this role, I have always enjoyed being creative and bringing a smile and a sense of joy to others.
I am looking forward to developing an Activities programme that will bring enrichment to residents' lives through meaningful Activities.

Life at Plas-Y-Dderwen Care Home
Braving the Shave
Two staff members braved the shave on Monday 25th September to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support. Emma Lutkin (31) and Rebekah Townsend (23) joined forces and raised nearly a £1000 for the charity.
Both Emma and Rebekah have family members affected by cancer: Emma’s grandfather is fighting Cancer and Rebekah’s mother is recovering from breast cancer. Both Emma and Rebekah said it’s not just for their families; they wanted to 'brave the shave' in recognition of everyone who’s lives have been turned upside down by a loved one being diagnosed with cancer.
The shave was witnessed by the Mayor and Mayoress of Carmarthen, in add addition to other staff members and residents at Plas-Y-Dderwen.
The hair was donated to the Little Princess Trust, which provides real hair wigs free of charge to children across the UK and Ireland, who have sadly lost their own hair due to cancer treatment and other illnesses.
