Activities at Lindum House Care Home
Our fantastic Activities Coordinators make sure that there is a full programme of social events to suit all interests and capabilities. They aim to not only to stimulate, but to ensure that everyone involved has lots of fun. We enjoy trips out visiting local places of interest or just to explore, which inevitably ends up with us having a lovely lunch somewhere.
There are regular concerts that we hold in the home that allows us to have a good old singalong, and our community links include the local churches, knit and natter groups and toddler groups coming in to see residents.
On a daily basis, everyone enjoys a variety of activities, including quizzes, bingo, arts and crafts, reminiscing and movement to music. We also host movie afternoons on the big screen which, of course, involves popcorn and ice cream at the interval!
Any residents who are unable to join us in the communal areas for activities have one-to-one time in their rooms, with us either reading to them, chatting or anything else they wish to do that’s within their capabilities.
Kelly Rolph
Hi there, I'm Kelly. My role at Lindum House ensures all of our residents always have lots of fun activities to look forward too.
I grew up down south, my parents worked in news trade & I've lived in many places! I've lived in hull for 20 years now, worked in health and social care for around 15 years, I started on care, worked through domestic, kitchen assistant and found my calling with activities!
I'm a super social person, enjoy being busy and sing in my spare time. I am part of a small singing charity group 'guise & gals'. I've been singing karaoke since I was 18 but never had the confidence to take it any further. I do, however, love putting on a show for our residents!
I'm a strong believer in 'treat people how you wish to be treated' everyone is different and it's important to focus on each individuals wants and needs, to encourage and nurture life, you only live once!
I'm full of energy, providing there is music... it's good for my soul!
Our residents smiles are my reward, it makes me so happy to see them enjoying them selves.

Life at Lindum House Care Home
Home donates to Beverley Minster
The staff at Lindum House created a gift box full of Harvest Festival treats and goodies and was full of none perishables, due to food donations having to be quarantined before taking them along to Beverley Minister for their Harvest Festival celebrations.
The home are delighted to be able to help support their local community during these difficult times and also to say thank you to everyone who has shown them kindness during this year’s pandemic. A thank you also to the team of dedicated staff at the home for your generosity and supporting the donation.
Harvest fun
Residents and staff at Lindum House celebrated Harvest Festival with a fulfilled day. In the morning, via the internet Residents watched the live stream from Beverley Minster, ‘the Harvest Festival service’. Before engaging in a reminiscence talk, on what their favourite hymns were.
Resident Beryl said ‘ We plough the fields, and Come, ye thankful people come’ to which everyone engaged in a singsong. Resident Jean added ‘it’s wonderful to hear a live service, it feels like your there’. In the afternoon everyone came together to enjoy baking their own bread and making delightful shapes with the dough.
World Heart Day
Everyone at Lindum House wished to spread some love and joy in these unprecedented times as they celebrated World Heart Day.
The homes hard working dedicated team at Lindum enjoyed some cakes and sweets as a big thank you for all that they do.
The team at Lindum really appreciated the thoughtful gesture.
Home supports friends in the community
Residents at Lindum House care home, in Beverley continue to help within the local community.
Tom Appleyard, a regular visitor to Lindum House has been unable to join us at Lindum House due to the current government COVID-19 guidelines. During these uncertain times, we at Lindum House wanted to ensure Tom still receives a home cooked meal each day, and our dedicated chef and team help to provide delicious and healthy meals to Tom.
Sharon Bowtell General Manager at Lindum House Care Home said: “In these unprecedented times, ensuring our friend Tom Appleyard still receives a home cooked meal each day is very important. We also ensure Tom has regular communication with the home, and knows we are here to maintain this relationship. It is important to support one another during this time.”
Beach themed day
Residents of Lindum House enjoyed a beach themed day and had fun with all things the seaside, reminiscing about days by the sea, paddling and crabbing and much more.
They had a little friendly competition as they pinned the ice-cream on the map which brought much laughter before sitting down to enjoy traditional fayre of fish and chips followed by a refreshing ice-cream. Where will their travels take them next time?
Last night of the Proms
At Lindum House the show must go on and Residents enjoyed a fun day watching the Last night of the Proms on the big screen and engaging in a rapturous rendition of Rule Britannia, Land of hope and glory and many more.
Resident, Barbara said “it was marvellous to watch and I really enjoyed the day”. During these uncertain times the proms were unable to perform in front of a live audience so the homes activities team played last years on DVD on the big screen so Residents were able to enjoy the full experience.
