Activities at Tewkesbury Fields Care Home

Our teams are trained to enrich the lives of residents through stimulating the mind, body and soul, and taking the time to learn about each person to ensure everyone receives support that adds enrichment to their life.

Activities are an integral part of life at our care home. We want to ensure that the people we support have as much fun as possible during their time with us, so it’s important that our activities programme is created with the interests of residents in mind. Our skilled Activities Coordinators bring a certain uniqueness to the home that can’t be found anywhere else, and which is reflected in the activities they organise.

We were delighted to welcome the 1st Bredon Cubs to spend time with our residents.
Alongside a good chat, we had a selection of games, crafts and Christmas themed colouring that promoted interactions between the younger and older generations.
Just before we said our goodbyes, one of our residents thanked all the children for their visit and enjoyed distributing chocolates. We wished them all a very Merry Christmas.

Tree Festival

We had a great afternoon visiting the Christmas Tree Festival at St Nicholas Church, Ashchurch.
This year the theme is "Christmas through the years" and we had been invited to challenge our creative side and have our own tree on display.
Each picture on the tree was chosen by the residents, following a reminiscing session on what Christmas means to them and their memories.
During the visit, residents enjoyed admiring their work on display and seeing the other trees from varied groups in the community. And how creative and varied
One resident even had the chance to play the organ.

Alfie brings beautiful moments of joy, comfort and companion to everyone.
Thanks Jo for bringing Alfie to see our residents at Tewkesbury Fields, we really appreciate your volunteering time with us all.
Today, we believe that Alfie has certainly eaten enough biscuits and treats for the day

Minibus outing to Tewkesbury Abbey

This week we had several trips to Tewkesbury Abbey to visit the Museum of the Moon. Whereby we saw  the awe-inspiring artwork by Luke Jerram. Measuring 7 metres in diameter and featuring detailed NASA imagery. The internally lit Moon Sculpture floats amidst the gothic arches was simply stunning.
We all enjoyed the experience.

Honoring Remembrance Sunday

Our residents, families and staff gathered together to remember and honor all who served and sacrificed for our freedom. We watched the service on Television and all stopped for the 2 minute silence at 11am.
We also wanted to take this opportunity to share the amazing work that after months' of dedication from our residents has been put to display at Tewkesbury Fields.
Since end of August this year, we have been very dedicated in creating one of the biggest Poppies display for the home.
It has been many hours of drawing, cutting, adding black stickers and many staples used on nets. We believe that we've cut over 2000 Poppies.
We are extremely proud of everyone who made this possible, including relatives who joined in during their visits and staff members!
