Activities at Tewkesbury Fields Care Home

Our teams are trained to enrich the lives of residents through stimulating the mind, body and soul, and taking the time to learn about each person to ensure everyone receives support that adds enrichment to their life.

Activities are an integral part of life at our care home. We want to ensure that the people we support have as much fun as possible during their time with us, so it’s important that our activities programme is created with the interests of residents in mind. Our skilled Activities Coordinators bring a certain uniqueness to the home that can’t be found anywhere else, and which is reflected in the activities they organise.

Minibus outing to Tewkesbury Abbey

This week we had several trips to Tewkesbury Abbey to visit the Museum of the Moon. Whereby we saw  the awe-inspiring artwork by Luke Jerram. Measuring 7 metres in diameter and featuring detailed NASA imagery. The internally lit Moon Sculpture floats amidst the gothic arches was simply stunning.
We all enjoyed the experience.

And the Winner of our Pumpkin Carving Competition is a family member. Congratulations for having the most voted pumpkin by our residents. It was certainly a very creative and detailed carved pumpkin, well done!
Pumpkin carving at Tewkesbury Fields.
During this week, it's has been fun, laughter and a little pumpkin magic as residents have been carving pumpkins together and the final creations are truly amazing!
For some, an activity that brings back memories of days spent with grandchildren, for others, an opportunity to experience and learn something new.
At Tewkesbury Fields, we bring the seasonal themed activities to the home, we encourage residents to take the benefits of the offered activities in the home for their mind, body and soul.

Visit from Beckford Nursery Children

Our residents were absolutely delighted to welcome the Nursery children for their first visit to Tewkesbury Fields Care Home.
The children bring such a zest for fun and learning, while our residents are always eager to share their wisdom and stories.
During this visit, we decorated Pumpkins, played with the parachute and even sang a few Nursery Rhymes together.
These intergenerational visits are proving to be a real favourite with both our residents and the children. We love seeing the smiles, laughter and connections that blossom each time they come together!
We look forward to seeing them again next month.
Scrabble Club

Scrabble Club

We support our residents in continuing their hobbies and daily lifestyle preferences. There are plenty of opportunities to join new activities too and make friends along the way.

At Tewkesbury Fields Scrabble is very much the favourite board game. Residents regularly challenge each other to a game -and at times is quite tense!

We had a lovely time browsing the gifts, plants, and of course… the Christmas decorations!
There were lots of smiles, laughter, and a few things added to our Christmas wish lists.
It’s always such a joy to see our residents out and about enjoying experiences together

At Tewksbury Fields many of us are pet and animal lovers.  So we couldn't let International Dog Day pass us by!

We organized  a dog photography competition and we were thrilled with the amount of participants that took the time to send in the beautiful photos of their dogs.

Our residents enjoyed looking at them and the judging became very intense! The results were close - but the overall winner was Reg who is a 16 week puppy.
