Activities at Lindum House Care Home
Our fantastic Activities Coordinators make sure that there is a full programme of social events to suit all interests and capabilities. They aim to not only to stimulate, but to ensure that everyone involved has lots of fun. We enjoy trips out visiting local places of interest or just to explore, which inevitably ends up with us having a lovely lunch somewhere.
There are regular concerts that we hold in the home that allows us to have a good old singalong, and our community links include the local churches, knit and natter groups and toddler groups coming in to see residents.
On a daily basis, everyone enjoys a variety of activities, including quizzes, bingo, arts and crafts, reminiscing and movement to music. We also host movie afternoons on the big screen which, of course, involves popcorn and ice cream at the interval!
Any residents who are unable to join us in the communal areas for activities have one-to-one time in their rooms, with us either reading to them, chatting or anything else they wish to do that’s within their capabilities.
Kelly Rolph
Hi there, I'm Kelly. My role at Lindum House ensures all of our residents always have lots of fun activities to look forward too.
I grew up down south, my parents worked in news trade & I've lived in many places! I've lived in hull for 20 years now, worked in health and social care for around 15 years, I started on care, worked through domestic, kitchen assistant and found my calling with activities!
I'm a super social person, enjoy being busy and sing in my spare time. I am part of a small singing charity group 'guise & gals'. I've been singing karaoke since I was 18 but never had the confidence to take it any further. I do, however, love putting on a show for our residents!
I'm a strong believer in 'treat people how you wish to be treated' everyone is different and it's important to focus on each individuals wants and needs, to encourage and nurture life, you only live once!
I'm full of energy, providing there is music... it's good for my soul!
Our residents smiles are my reward, it makes me so happy to see them enjoying them selves.

Life at Lindum House Care Home
Mayor opens allotment garden
Staff and residents at Lindum House have been hard at work creating a fantastic allotment garden for everyone to enjoy. The home’s beautiful gardens have always been the heart of the Lindum House community but this year, at the residents’ request, activities and maintenance staff decided to create a brand new allotment area.
The grand opening took place on April 30th attended by Beverley town council’s Deputy Mayor, Councillor David Boynton who cut the ribbon opening the new allotment area and commented: “It really is a pleasure to be here today to open this wonderful new allotment for the residents at Lindum House to enjoy.”
The new space has something for all the senses with a huge array of edible plants, raised beds and wheelchair-friendly walkways making it accessible for all. Different beds are filled with vegetables, fruit and herbs such as strawberries, carrots, onions, beans and rosemary plants, there are just too many to list! They really have thought of everything.
Celebrating Cadbury's
Residents across our services had a wonderful time joining Cadbury for an interactive virtual talk on their fascinating 200-year history.
Residents joining learnt interesting facts about the chocolate giant, shared memories, and reminisced about their favourite sweet treats.
It was a heartwarming experience filled with laughter, nostalgia, and plenty of chocolatey goodness!
Classical tones of Lee Kamen
A Fabulous afternoon was had by all at Lindum House, Beverley, when lee Kamen came to visit for the first time, on Tuesday 2nd April. Our residents have been requesting a ‘classical’ singer for some time now; Kelly Rolph (activities coordinator) put a plea out on her personal socials & Lee answered it! Lee made his debut performance, singing a good variety of Classical & popular hit songs. He has such a versatile voice; he had the residents engaged and entertained for the full hour. One of our residents said “what a beautiful voice, I couldn’t take my eyes off him”. Music is loved a great deal here at Lindum, our team & the Residents were all singing and waving their arms to the music, it was so wonderful to see everyone having such a lovely time.
Lindum loves to Sing & Dance
A Fabulous afternoon was had by all at Lindum House, Beverley, when John Robert came to visit on Sunday 14th April. John is one of our regular performers now, the residents always ask when he’s next in & do their best to come and watch him. He always sings a good variety of ‘greatest hits’ from the 40s to 80’s. He has such a versatile voice; he has the residents engaged and entertained for the full hour. John sang a wide selection of country, pop, easy, rock & Roll. John also often takes requests. If he doesn’t have that specific song, he will be sure to do it on his next visit! One of our residents said “He has such a smooth voice, he’s just such a lovely singer, and he’s handsome too”. Music is loved a great deal here at Lindum, Staff & Residents were all singing and dancing to his music. it was so wonderful to see everyone having such a lovely time.
Green Fingers Reborn
This month has seen the rebirth of an old favourite activity, Green Fingers Club. Here at Lindum House, we have been working hard to create a new allotment space, by our resident’s request. Our residents requested an allotment area back in October 2023, well we are pleased to announce the official opening will be Tuesday 30th April and we have Beverley town councils very own Deputy mayor ‘councillor David Boynton’, pulling the ribbon! Green Fingers Club, was a great addition to our weekly groups last year and with a new customised & adapted space for our residents to work, we’re sure it’s going to be used to its full potential. Our residents have already enjoyed planting seeds, creating hanging baskets & planters, in order to secure it looks beautiful and abundant for its official opening. The Physical & mental wellbeing this simple activity gives is astonishing, not to mention the joy and happiness. We can’t wait to enjoy the fruits of our labour later in the year!
Come sing!
Residents across our homes and hospitals had a fantastic time with vocal coach Dan Cooper from Biiah as he led an amazing sing-a-long session for residents to enjoy.
Residents who joined the event were able to learn different techniques as they sang the famous ‘I Can See Clearly Now’ by Jimmy Cliff and ‘Here Comes the Sun’ by The Beatles.
Across our homes there were smiles and laugher all around. The session was such a success and was great for the mind, body and soul.
