Activities at Reigate Beaumont Care Home
Our specialist activities staff are committed to organising and delivering a fun mix of activities and events chosen by the residents here at Reigate Beaumont. We work closely with the local community who get involved in all kinds of activities within the home. We enjoy all kinds of events which could be anything from trips out to local places of interest in our minibus or visits from entertainers and musicians, spending time in our beautiful gardens, or providing great activities for the mind body and soul. We liaise with local churches and regularly hold multi-congregational services at the home.
It is important to us that each individual who we support can get as much from these as possible, so we try our best to arrange activities that reflect their interests and capabilities, and encourage them to participate in any way they can. We also encourage relatives to join with activities and invite them to our regular events. We also have a variety of volunteers who really enjoy spending time within the home too.

Each resident is unique and as an Activity Coordinator, I aim to create meaningful activities whereby residents can feel at home. From quizzes to games, stretch classes to flower arranging, reminiscing to enjoying our beautiful gardens. From musicians to Namaste sessions, outings, intergenerational and community involvement – a balanced activity program of body, mind and soul allows each resident to feel as if they have purpose and meaning in their lives. As well as sitting and having meaningful one to one engaged conversation or holding your loved ones hand – can allow a resident to feel that Reigate Beaumont is their home. With a background as a Healthcare Assistant, we are taught to provide person centred care. This has helped me to provide person centred activities.

Life at Reigate Beaumont Care Home
Easter Magic!
Reigate Beaumont residents and staff welcomed members from the community for a Good Friday Egg & Bunny Hunt! The children had a fun filled morning looking for eggs, bunnies & gold eggs all around our patio garden. Our Senior Head Chef Roman prepared a delicious assortment of eats for everyone to enjoy and we all had a fantastic morning together. The children went home very happy, holding in their hands plenty of chocolate treats! Spreading the Easter Magic, our residents and staff all received chocolate eggs. It was a lovely start to the Easter long weekend.
35 Eager Beavers!
Reigate Beaumont welcomed the 17th Reigate (St Joseph’s) Scout Group for their last club meeting before the Easter holidays. The weather turned out absolutely perfect for a hunt in our garden and the beavers had to run around in our beautiful grounds, looking for hidden eggs! There was lots of squeals to be heard when eggs were found and many happy faces! Everyone then headed inside to meet our residents. The residents, beavers and their leaders then enjoyed delicious cake, tea and hot cross buns. We do so love to welcome our community into our home!
Sing-A-Long!
Here at Reigate Beaumont, we encourage our residents to learn about new technology. So we have been creating our own Spotify Sing-A-Long list! We had a fantastic morning learning how Spotify works and creating a playlist of all our favourite songs which we can then sing along to whenever we want to. We were jiving in our seats, belly laughing and a enjoying a tot of sherry! Henry Ford said it well: "Anyone who stops learning is old, whether at twenty or eighty. Anyone who keeps learning stays young." We aim to stay young!
St Patrick's Day!
Reigate Beaumont’s residents and staff had a lovely day filled with the luck & love of the Irish! The morning started off with a game of BINGO, followed by a St Patrick's Day Quiz. The residents had a delicious Irish lunch prepared by our Head Chef Roman and his team. The afternoon brought a delightful performance from Keady Academy of Irish Dance. Some of the dancers, as young as 5 years old performed in front of residents, family and staff. A lovely end to the weekend!
Happy Mother's Day!
Reigate Beaumont residents, a few family members and staff joined together in our main lounge for a wonderful afternoon. It was certainly a day to cherish, to remember and to reflect on. A day to appreciate all of our mother's. And what better way to do this, than by spending a lovely afternoon together. Lots of laughter and the perfect way to get to know one another over a cup of tea & coffee. Our chef prepared a variety of delicious cakes and cupcakes for everyone to enjoy.
Wild About Britain!
"No one will protect what they don't care about; and no one will care about what they have never experienced" - Sir David Attenborough. This quote echoes much of what our residents were thinking and feeling today. We listened to Connie, the founder of Wild About Britain talk about endangered British wildlife which included reptiles, mammals, amphibians, invertebrates, and birds. She brought along with her, what can only be described as a unique and unforgettable educational wildlife experience: Freddie the Tawny Owl; Snowdrop the Hedgehog; Wren the Smooth Snake (UK's rarest reptile); and a juvenile toad with no name! A wonderful experience for our residents.
