Activities at Trinity Manor Care Home

Activities are an integral part of life at our care home. We want to ensure that the people we support have as much fun as possible during their time with us, so it’s important that our activities programme is created with the interests of residents in mind. Our skilled Activities Coordinators bring a certain uniqueness to the home that can’t be found anywhere else, and which is reflected in the activities they organise.

Life's a Hoot!

We were lucky enough to get a meet and greet with a pair of beautiful Owls. Everyone enjoyed learning about these beautiful birds and the lives that they lead. A huge thank you to Owl Obsession UK for introducing us to your friends!

Senior General Manager, Sohail Daniel, said: "Our residents have really enjoyed their unusual visitors today. We knew that having the owls here would be a bit of fun for all our residents, and staff alike! We are always looking for new activities for the residents and today we have seen the enjoyment and the therapeutic influence of animals on people."

We look forward to welcoming more furry, and winged animals to Trinity Manor in the near future.

Trinity Manor On the Road

Once again we recently were out and about in our minibus with Bibesh and Kath, this time we went to a local Garden Centre which was enjoyed by everyone.

The group saw the beautiful range of flowers and tried on a selection of hats and shared in a good old fashioned cup of tea with friends!

All aboard!

This week we were able to create a special memory for one of our families. We were able to support John to visit his daughter’s fantastic business and share with her for the morning.

It was beautiful to see them interact and they all loved every minute of it. We enjoyed the hospitality of PIPS in Lopen, just outside Yeovil.

Their quirky cafe serves outstanding coffee, teas and delicious cakes crafted on-site in their brand new bakeshop. The restaurant creates exciting flavours inspired by their organic farm serving breakfast and lunch. All served in a refurbished 1850’s train carriage, double-decker bus & marquee.

Musical Memory Lane

Recently on Memory Lane things got a little noisy as our residents got into the carnival spirit making music with each other.

As you can see from their faces this was definitely a hit. It’s widely recognised that Music can have many benefits in the setting of dementia. It can help reduce anxiety and depression, help maintain speech and language, is helpful at the end of life, enhances quality of life and has a positive impact on carers.

Trinity Manor Celebrates Holi

Staff and residents joined together to celebrate Holi Festival, with a group residents having fun throwing coloured paint over a few of our team, as well as residents on Memory Lane creating colourful patterns with a well-known sweet. Although now a worldwide celebration, Holi is mostly acknowledged in countries in Asia, such as India, Nepal, and Bangladesh. Also known as the Festival of Colours, the Festival of Spring, and the Festival of Love, Holi is a celebration during which people famously throw colourful powder and water at one another! Holi is primarily a Hindu festival, celebrated by followers of the Hindu religion. However, people from all kinds of backgrounds and religions around the world are encouraged to have fun and take part in the Holi celebrations!
