Activities at Cossins House Care Home
Activities are the cornerstone of a wholesome home experience, and our Activities Coordinators are always putting their creative minds to the test by organising new and exciting social events for residents to partake in. Of course, we take into account the likes and dislikes of those we support, so if someone doesn’t feel like trying something new, there will always be something on offer to reflect their personal interests. For the people who may just prefer some peace and quiet instead, we also offer one-to-one time that can be enjoyed with a nice cup of coffee or just a simple chat – whatever they desire.
Lisa Unsworth
I have been working in care since the age of 16, when leaving school. Over the years, I have been a senior care assistant, administrator, home trainer and activities coordinator. I really enjoy working with the elderly residents.

Life at Cossins House Care Home
Terry Gleed Entertains
A super afternoon of fun, music, laughter and happiness with Terry Gleed performing live at Cossins house. Terry took us on a tour of the !940’s right up to the 1980’s performing some of our old time favourites. Terry engages well and gives us the opportunity to sing along with him and often on his microphone. We look forward to seeing Terry again soon.
Our Garden
At Cossins house we like to make the most of our time by spending it in the garden. We love the surroundings and the beautiful flowers. Margaret and Pat took great joy in pruning the plants and removing the dead heads whilst our gardener was away. Other residents like to walk around the garden several times throughout the day to enjoy the beautiful fresh air and scents from our flowers.
A Trip to the Seaside
Residents at Cossins House were delighted to go the seaside in Goring. Soaking up the sea air and eating fresh fish and chips followed by enormous ice creams. We travelled by mini bus and enjoyed the country views along the way. Our residents had a wonderful time reminiscing from there past from all the beaches they have visited. A great day all round and looking forward to the next trip.
A Day in the Philippines
Today our staff took us to the Philippines to try some new delicious dishes and share with us their culture. Our lovely Josielyn gave us a talk on where she grew up and spoke about all the exciting things in the Philippines. Looking at the rice fields and how rice grows, seeing the street food and touring through the mountains. A fabulous afternoon and we all learnt so much.
Every Moment Counts
At Cossins House we love to make every moment matter. Forming friendships, keeping each other company and doing all the things we love. We like to share our memories and make new memories. We engage with others and keep each other smiling. It is a happy life and our happy place.
Top Hat & Tails
A super afternoon of fun and laughter with the Rah Rah Theatre Company who performed Top Hat & Tails. The interaction with residents were delightful. The laughter was beautiful. Resident Elizabeth said ‘That was one of the best I have ever seen, they were so good’. Entertainment is a huge joy for us here at Cossins House. We love to make every moment matter.
