Activities at Hollyfields Care Home

Our Activities programme is formulated using resident requests and feedback from resident meetings. Residents are involved in planning the programme with things they they would like to do throughout the year. There is a mixture of activities that take place including both group and 1-1 engagement. Residents at Hollyfields particularly enjoy movement to music activities enabling them to increase their level of physical abilities and have fun at the same time, whilst others enjoy musical singalongs and food based activities throughout the week.

We have a mini bus that enables us to reconnect our residents with their community in ways that suite themselves as individuals. This can be achieved by visiting local farms, Georgian towns, local attractions and even the local public house for lunch with friends. Hollyfields have a great relationship with their local community and have visits from local organisations such as The Wyre Community Land Trust and are currently undertaking a 12 week funded project from Arts Etc. Residents at Hollyfields enjoy Pet Therapy visits from their pet rabbit 'Thumper' and like to help clean and feed him daily. Relatives can be encouraged to join us for activities and again are very supportive with delivering theme days and fundraising events within the home.

International Nurses' Day

Staff at Hollyfields & High Habberley House went out into the local community to deliver homemade cakes to the nursing staff at Kidderminster Hospital for International Nurses Day as a small token of appreciation for the wonderful work that they do.

Activities Coordinator, Michael Butler, also contacted their local Boots Pharmacist Manager, who attended the home to celebrate the great work that the nurses do at Hollyfields & High Habberley Care Home, and presented them with goodie bags containing cosmetics, toiletries & sweet treats.

Easter Fun

Easter Fun

The Easter bunny and his friend, the Chic, descended upon Hollyfields over the Easter weekend to give residents their Easter eggs and to draw the Easter raffle, which helped to raise money for our residents' fund.

Ultra White Collar Boxing

Ultra White Collar Boxing

Maintenance Manager, James, set himself with the challenge of raising money for Cancer Research UK by participating in a boxing match after only 8 weeks of training.

The challenge is called Ultra White Collar Boxing, which is a unique opportunity for people with no boxing background to experience the world of boxing, in a safe and enjoyable environment. It’s for people who want to get fit, learn a new sport and raise money for charity.

Electronic Art

Electronic Art

Residents enjoyed taking time out to create art masterpieces using the tablet and apps; they loved making colourful patterns and pictures using the Kaleidoscope app, which were then printed and kept in their rooms.

Michael Shaves His Head for Charity

Michael Shaves His Head for Charity
