Activities at Hyacinth House Care Home
Our home is always full of life, and we can thank our wonderful Activities Coordinators for this. Dedication to creating a unique and interesting activities programme is what sets us apart from other homes. We always take into consideration that some people would prefer to pursue their own interests, which is why our team strive to incorporative activities that cater to a wide range of tastes and hobbies. Our trips out are always fun and exciting as well, and residents are guaranteed to return with stories to tell their loved ones!

Anna Wasiak
I am a friendly and enthusiastic Activity Coordinator with a passion for working with people and making a positive impact in their lives. I joined Hyacinth House in 2024 as a carer and excited to now be the Activities Coordinator. I have eight years experience in hospitality and three years in floristry. I bring creativity, strong interpersonal skills and a warm welcoming approach to my role. My background has given me the ability to connect with individuals, organise engaging activities, and create meaningful experiences that brighten people’s days. I love inspiring others, fostering a sense of community and bringing joy through thoughtful and inclusive activities.
Activities and Events Partnerships
As part of our bespoke life-enrichment programmes, we host a number of live virtual events in the home on a regular basis through a number of partnerships with places of interest and world class performance companies

Introducing the ‘Hyacinth’s Sweet Treat Repeat!’ Sundae
After multiple tries and tasting, our residents have created their favourite Ice Cream Sundae.
A sundae with multiple layers of different fruits, vanilla ice cream, homemade sponge, chocolate flake, fresh cherries and whipped cream.
Vanilla sponge at the bottom, frozen raspberries, sliced peaches, followed by a layer of ice cream and dried raspberries, fruit cocktail, more ice cream with sliced fresh cherries topped with mini raspberry meringues, a squirt of cream, crumbled chocolate flakes, wafer, flake and lastly a cherry on top!
Each resident created their version of the sundae and added more of their favourite layer, a versatile recipe to cover everyone’s taste.
Enjoy, because we did!

Let's celebrate in style
It's that time of year again when ladies dress to impress in their finest frocks and matching hats for Royal Ascot Ladies Day.
The residents of Hyacinth House, along with the team, celebrated by donning their best glad rags and watched the races from the comfort of their lounge.
Dressed to impress and cheering on the horses, they sipped on bubbles and Pimm's while savoring scones with cream and jam.
This sparked the ultimate question: what comes first, the cream or the jam on a scone?
If you would like to learn more about Hyacinth House, please give our friendly team a call.

Happy Fathers Day!
Today we celebrate the amazing fathers and father figures, who have made a difference in our lives with their love and wisdom. We also take this time to remember and honour those who are no longer with us but continue to inspire us each day.
Wishing everyone a wonderful day filled with joy and cherished memories on this special day.

We had an amazing weekend at the Annual Wimborne Folk festival!
A few of the staff and residents went to see this magnificent event and what a treat it was. From the vibrant Morris dancers, to the fantastic music and on to the array of charming stalls, where we came home with some lovely finds.
After a quick stop in a cafe for a cup of tea we returned home.
