Activities at Moors Manor Care Home
Our activities team are great at building the activities programme around the likes and interests of the people we care for. Ensuring that our social events offer fun and adventure is part of the ethos of our home; it’s important that those we support can enjoy an active and social lifestyle. Of course, there will always be those who prefer peace and quiet, and in these instances, a cup of tea and a chat are always welcomed.
Jo Henderson
Hi, my name is Jo Henderson and I am the Activities Coordinator here at Moors Manor.
I am looking forward to bringing my creative side to the home as I was previously a florist and baker and look forward to us making lots of lovely treats for us all to enjoy.
When at home Jo is a mother to two wonderful daughters and also a pet mum to labrador Marley.
I cannot wait to welcome our residents into their wonderful new home and help to bring smiles, joy and laughter to each day.
Read our brochure 'Life-enriching activities' for more information about life in our care homes.

Life at Moors Manor Care Home
Waitangi Day
We celebrated Waitangi Day by making bunting, having a traditional meal, watching a documentary and looking through some lovely pictures sent in by relatives of one of our residents. It was a lovely day and we are talking about where to virtually visit next?
Scrabble Match
Our residents have been teaching Sam our activities coordinator the rules of Scrabble. A competitive match took place with some unusual words.
Big Bird Watch
We went outside as the weather was so lovely to take part in the Big Garden Bird watch this weekend.
Burns Celebrations
We celebrated the life and poetry of Robert Burns with Scottish themed day and traditional lunch. Amanda read the "address to the Haggis" before Tracey carried on the tradition by stabbing the haggis before we started the meal.
International Flower Day
To celebrate international flower day one of our residents who used to be a florist talked us through making some displays for the home and lead us in a workshop with beautiful results.
London Day
The London Underground opened in 1863 on 10th January so at Moors Manor we celebrated with a day dedicated to the capital, we had a London quiz, good old singalong, pie and mash for lunch and we were treated to a visit from a proper London cab.
