Activities at Moors Manor Care Home

Our teams are trained to enrich the lives of residents through stimulating the mind, body and soul, and taking the time to learn about each person to ensure everyone receives support that adds enrichment to their life.

Our activities team are great at building the activities programme around the likes and interests of the people we care for. Ensuring that our social events offer fun and adventure is part of the ethos of our home; it’s important that those we support can enjoy an active and social lifestyle. Of course, there will always be those who prefer peace and quiet, and in these instances, a cup of tea and a chat are always welcomed.

Jo Henderson

Activities Coordinator

Hi, my name is Jo Henderson and I am the Activities Coordinator here at Moors Manor.

I am looking forward to bringing my creative side to the home as I was previously a florist and baker and look forward to us making lots of lovely treats for us all to enjoy.

When at home Jo is a mother to two wonderful daughters and also a pet mum to labrador Marley.

I cannot wait to welcome our residents into their wonderful new home and help to bring smiles, joy and laughter to each day.

Activities and Events Partnerships

As part of our bespoke life-enrichment programmes, we host a number of live virtual events in the home on a regular basis through a number of partnerships with places of interest and world class performance companies

Celebrating the Kings Coronation

Excitement was in the air as we all celebrated the highly anticipated Coronation of King Charles in style.

Our home was beautifully decorated with themed flags, banners and red, white and blue balloons, setting the stage for a grand royal afternoon tea and quiz.

The whole home came together, along with families, friends and local community members to celebrate our new King and talk about the new era the country is entering.

Our talented chef prepared an assortment of delicious sweet and savoury treats for all to enjoy, accompanied by a glass of champagne.

We all had such a brilliant time celebrating the Coronation, such a momentous occasion.

Cycling to Buckingham Palace

Our staff, residents and professional friends static cycled 107 miles from our home to Buckingham Palace today in time for the kings coronation. We raised £350 for Dementia Action, a local community group that assists with dementia.  A fantastic day, we enjoyed singing, clapping and healthy beverages to help us along the way. Lester Aldridge our partner also joined in the cycle and generously donated to a really worthy cause.

Coronation talk with historian Pippa Catterell

Some of our residents joined the Coronation Talk with Historian Pippa Catterall this afternoon – I hope they found it as informative and brilliant as I did!. If you would like to see it here is the link https://youtube.com/live/0frFExXv9DM
