Activities at Moors Manor Care Home
Our teams are trained to enrich the lives of residents through stimulating the mind, body and soul, and taking the time to learn about each person to ensure everyone receives support that adds enrichment to their life.
Our activities team are great at building the activities programme around the likes and interests of the people we care for. Ensuring that our social events offer fun and adventure is part of the ethos of our home; it’s important that those we support can enjoy an active and social lifestyle. Of course, there will always be those who prefer peace and quiet, and in these instances, a cup of tea and a chat are always welcomed.

Read our brochure ‘Life-enriching activities’ for more information about life in our care homes.

Jo Henderson
Activities Coordinator
Hi, my name is Jo Henderson and I am the Activities Coordinator here at Moors Manor.
I am looking forward to bringing my creative side to the home as I was previously a florist and baker and look forward to us making lots of lovely treats for us all to enjoy.
When at home Jo is a mother to two wonderful daughters and also a pet mum to labrador Marley.
I cannot wait to welcome our residents into their wonderful new home and help to bring smiles, joy and laughter to each day.

Alpaca Visit

Wreath Making

Remembrance Service
We had a wonderful evening at Christchurch Priory for the remembrance concert.
It was a great chance to reminisce about their experiences as children and share stories of the past. We look forward to visiting the Priory again soon!

The Countdown is on..
A trip to the garden centre meant a festive morning's wander around the Christmas decorations and a few funny costume changes, before that mandatory tea & cake in the coffee shop.

National Dog Day
We had the absolute pleasure of having Marley to visit our home today, on National Dog Day.
Marley enjoyed all the strokes and love from our residents and even slept while we played bingo.

Veterans Lunch
We would like to say a big Thank you to David and Paul from the Rotary International who supported us at Moors Manor to host a Veterans Lunch today. It was so successful and everyone had a wonderful time.
We would also like to thank our amazing hospitality team who served a delicious lunch.

Elf Day for Alzheimer's Society

Rock around the clock!
What an absolutely amazing day!
We kick-started it off with Tracey Tardiss and her beautiful singing and saxophone, followed by the marvellous Neil Wookie. They both had staff and residents out of their chairs dancing, singing and laughing. Also, a special mention to Dennis, who celebrated his 88th birthday today alongside fellow residents, staff family and friends!
Happy Birthday, Dennis!

Artists at Work
Today we spent the afternoon bringing out our inner artists with a 'paint and sip' afternoon.
We painted our own mugs with acrylic paint and baked them in the over to use for our mugs of tea!

The Day the Creatures Came to Visit
On Tuesday we had the absolute pleasure of welcoming 'Creature Teachers' to Moors Manor for a show and tell session with their fascinating animals.
From slithery snakes to fluffy rabbits, we stroked, held and learnt about them all!
A big thank you from the team at Creature Teachers for coming to visit!

Avon Heath Country Park
The ladies of the Manor wrapped up warm for a lovely outing to Avon Heath Country Park.
They walked around the park, enjoying the nature and making the most of the winter sun. Of course they had a look in the bird hide and enjoyed a bit of sunshine before getting in the warmth of the café for a cup of tea.

Christmas Lights
We kicked off the festive season with a trip to Bournemouth to see the beautiful Christmas lights. Getting out in that winter air was lovely and the lights are so amazing to see each year!

Bonfire Night
What a fabulous firework night!
Thank you to our wonderful Head of maintenance, Scott, for his wonderful display. Scott goes above and beyond for our home, and we are very grateful.
The residents, staff, family and friends all thoroughly enjoyed it, and it certainly ended with a bang!

There's no coffee without Cake!
Our residents had a fabulous time at this months Community Coffee Morning.
With coffee, home made cake, and live music from the fabulous Nigel Revill.
Our Community Cafe runs on the last Friday of each month and we cannot wait to see you at the next!

'Love to Move', and that we do!
We adore our fitness sessions here at Moors Manor and 'Love to Move' is one of our absolute favourites.
Katie gets our hearts pumping, our muscles moving and makes us feel great for the day ahead!
It's always a pleasure!
