Activities at Oak Grange Care Home
Our home is always full of life, and we can thank our wonderful Activities Coordinators for this. Dedication to creating a unique and interesting activities programme is what sets us apart from other homes. We always take into consideration that some people would prefer to pursue their own interests, which is why our team strive to incorporative activities that cater to a wide range of tastes and hobbies. Our trips out are always fun and exciting as well, and residents are guaranteed to return with stories to tell their loved ones!

Life at Oak Grange Care Home
Games afternoon
Here at Oak Grange we enjoy a varied life enrichment programme to keep the mind, body and soul active. Each day there are popular group activities bringing everyone together along with individual Resident centred activities.
Residents enjoyed a fun filled afternoon with a friendly game of scrabble and ten pin bowling over a cup of tea and slice of homemade cake.
Community engagement
Residents of Oak Grange enjoyed a very special musical performance by the ‘Not forgotten’ singers who had everyone toe-tapping and singing along too! It was a wonderful morning and a massive thank you to them. The ‘Not Forgotten’ is a fantastic charity – Non-profit organisation for the armed forces who offer concerts for free. And this concert was the highlight of resident’s morning as we have a number of veteran’s who really enjoyed.
Aloha fun at Oak Grange
Residents at Oak Grange have been enjoying the best of Hawaii from the comfort of their own home. They enjoyed a live performance from Andy and Ian who delighted everyone with their songs and had everyone singing along too! Mary, resident “I can remember going to Hawaii and I remember I had a great time seeing all kinds of different shows so it is wonderful to be able to live a different experience in my own home”.
English National Ballet musical journey
We celebrated Last Night of the Proms virtually with members of English National Ballet’s Philharmonic Orchestra, led by Music Director Gavin Sutherland.
We listened and danced along as members of the orchestra took us on a magical, musical journey. English National Ballet Philharmonic is made up of many of the country’s top musicians, and boasts considerable experience in all forms of music-making. With insights and anecdotes into what it takes to conduct an orchestra for a world-class ballet company, this special concert got our feet tapping, arms waving and hearts singing!
It was a wonderful experience, enjoyed by all.
Scottish Galleries virtual event
We had a lovely time joining Becca Clark and James Wylie – members of V&A Dundee’s exhibitions team – as they took us on a virtual tour of the museum’s incredible Scottish Design Galleries.
We were introduced to the wide range of unique objects at the galleries from architecture and engineering, jewellery and textiles to theatre and their fascinating stories.
And we were able to learn more about the importance of all objects in telling the rich and varied history of Scottish design.
It was a lovely talk, enjoyed by all.
Gardening Club
Nothing enhances a room quite like a beautiful bouquet of flowers.
Residents at Oak Grange were having lots of fun while creatively making some lovely flower arranging to decorate the home and their rooms.
Flowers have been donated by volunteers.
