Activities at Paternoster House Care Home

Our specialist activities staff are committed to organising a mix of activities and events for residents and the local community to get involved in, including trips out to local places of interest in our minibus and visits from entertainers and musicians. It is important to us that each individual who we support can get as much from these as possible, so we try our best to arrange activities that reflect their interests and capabilities as best as possible, and encourage them to participate in any way they can. We also encourage relatives to join with activities and events as often as they can.

Life at Paternoster House Care Home

Chocolate Tuesday

Tuesday was chocolate tasting day!

White chocolate, milk chocolate, hot chocolate, chocolate bars, chocolate pieces, chocolate truffles, chocolate fingers, chocolate flakes, orange chocolate, liquor chocolate, dark chocolate, mint chocolate...... lots of delicious chocolate was enjoyed with many new flavours and favourites discovered.

Nothing says Christmas is approaching quite like taking a relaxing afternoon to indulge in a luxurious tasting session.

Remembrance Day

Paternoster House marked Remembrance Day with a minute of silence at the 11th hour, on the 11th day, of the 11th month.

Our residents joined millions of people around the country watching the Remembrance services on television this year and held the moments silence for those who have fallen in conflicts.

Diwali Celebrations at Paternoster House

Paternoster House marked their celebration of Diwali with the creation of handpainted laterns.

Diwali is a festival of lights and is celebrated by Hindus, Jains and Sikhs. Diwali symbolizes the spiritual "victory of light over darkness, good over evil, and knowledge over ignorance" which seems especially poignant this year.

Community Support From Paternoster House

Throughout this month everyone at Paternoster House has been doing their bit to help the local community by collecting food items to donate to our local food bank.

We understand that many people are going through a very difficult time and Paternoster House will continue to support the community as much as we can.

The food and other essentials were donated to 3Food4U, which is a new community organisation supported by Waltham Abbey Town Council, supplying food and essential items to those in need.

Remembrance Wreath

A great big thank you to the talented children of Sunshine Nursery and Pre-school. We are very impressed with the Remembrance Wreath that you have donated to us, yet another amazing creation.
