Our teams are trained to enrich the lives of residents through stimulating the mind, body and soul, and taking the time to learn about each person to ensure everyone receives support that adds enrichment to their life.

We understand that the people we support have passions and interests that could be difficult to pursue after moving into a care home – but that doesn’t mean we don’t encourage them to try! Some hobbies can define a person, so our Activities Coordinators are dedicated to ensuring that everyone we support is able to do what makes them happy to the best of their abilities. Social events are organised with individual tastes in mind and with the idea that residents have the opportunity to try new and exciting things.

Celebrating life at Parley Place Care Home

Birthday parties

May has been a month full of birthdays including celebrating with our lovely Ricci as she turned 90!

With a couple more to come there is still plenty of time to come celebrate with us and enjoy cakes with us!

St Georges Day

We had 2 wonderful reasons to celebrate yesterday, firstly our lovely Fays birthday and secondly St George's day. It was such a beautiful day we celebrated with tea and cakes in the garden.

Mother's Day

We had a lovely social afternoon for mothers day. Residents made floral decorations for the table, we got our vintage china out and chef made us a lovely Mother's Day Cake.

The room was buzzing with conversation and laughter.

Charlotte Entertains

We had a fabulous afternoon of entertainment by the lovely Charlotte Geary this weekend.

Charlotte has been coming to sing at Parley for over 2 years and is a firm favourite with the residents. So young and talented, we enjoyed singing along and a bit of a dance.

January Birthdays

We enjoyed celebrating with Beryl and Alan already this year for their January birthday's.

Both residents enjoyed rousing singing from the staff and sharing their cakes with their fellow residents

Dolphin Boat Trip

We enjoyed a bracing boat trip on the lovely Dolphin IV boat from Poole Quay.

Skipper, Ian, took us on a lovely trip around Poole Harbour, the weather was beautiful and the sea air refreshing.

Charity Afternoon Tea

We held a lovely charity afternoon tea at West Parley Parish Council hub, our residents joined people from the community for cream tea and entertainment from the lovely Real Deal UK. There was a raffle and plant sale as well.

We raised over £350 for Plants and Minds and had a good time.

International Women's Day

We celebrated with our resident's with coffee and cake's and a chance to talk about all that we have achieved in our lives. It was a beautiful afternoon and we have so many inspirational residents.

A couple of our lovely gents gave out flowers to our ladies to mark the day!

Swing Squad Entertains

Music always fills us with joy but when it's played to us by a group of teenagers who have arranged this music, the set up and played for us it was just heart warming.

The lovely Swing Squad played yesterday afternoon for us, ranging from 13 - 17 years old these amazing teenagers oozed confidence and the music they played was exceptional.

They chatted with us afterwards and were so polite and friendly, it was an absolute joy and pleasure to meet them all.

New Years Party

We had a lovely party with entertainment from the lovely duo, Serenade.

We sang, danced and toasted the New Year in altogether.

Flower Power!

Thank you to our lovely relatives Sherilyn for coming and doing some flowers arranging with our residents. It was really fun and the bouquets look lovely.

Easter fun with Nursery

We welcomed Mighty Oaks Day Nursery & Preschool to an Easter visit here at Parley today. We painted Easter eggs together, played games and even had one of the lovely children play the piano for us! The room was lively and filled with the sounds of giggles and laughter.

Chinese New Year and Pancake Day

Today marked not only Chinese New Year but also pancake day!

We enjoyed traditional pancakes this morning with a variety of toppings from traditional lemon and sugar to fruit and even marmalade! One of our residents hadn't had a pancake for over 40 years!

This afternoon we marked Chinese New year with a quiz and facts, Chinese tasters including - Chinese chicken crispy pancakes!

Beach ball Games

We had fun on the first floor with some beach balls, as we caught them we had to shout out what our favourite sweet treat was! With multiple balls being thrown it was a fun interesting afternoon with plenty of laughter!

Father Christmas Visits

So all of our residents were on the nice list this year and received a visit from Santa and his helpers on Christmas morning before our big lunch!
