Activities at Parley Place Care Home

Our teams are trained to enrich the lives of residents through stimulating the mind, body and soul, and taking the time to learn about each person to ensure everyone receives support that adds enrichment to their life.

We understand that the people we support have passions and interests that could be difficult to pursue after moving into a care home – but that doesn’t mean we don’t encourage them to try! Some hobbies can define a person, so our Activities Coordinators are dedicated to ensuring that everyone we support is able to do what makes them happy to the best of their abilities. Social events are organised with individual tastes in mind and with the idea that residents have the opportunity to try new and exciting things.

Activities Co-ordinator

I love being a friendly face for our residents.  A day in their lives should be filled with the care they deserve and enriched with activities.  We embrace each and every moment and make memories, I have many skills and a passion to provide our residents with the social interactions, lots of activities, smiles, laughter and fun.

Activities and Events Partnerships

As part of our bespoke life-enrichment programmes, we host a number of live virtual events in the home on a regular basis through a number of partnerships with places of interest and world class performance companies

Model Railway Club

We had a lovely time at our model railway club this morning. We discussed how we are developing it over the coming months. There were great conversations about our experiences with trains, railways and reminiscing about our younger years. Leamington Spa was the main topic today and we watched a great video from a model railway club based there. Our Model Railway Club is on every Wednesday morning - come along and join us.

Travel Talk

We had a lovely talk yesterday from Erick, he brought in picture books and showed us a slideshow from his travels around Costa Rica. It was all very interesting and he is certainly a talented photographer. Erick will be joining us again next month to continue his talk on his travels around.

Mini bus trip and drone lesson!

We had a fabulous trip this morning, on a crisp but sunny day we wrapped up warm and headed to Rockley Park and Ham Common. We bumped into Kyle and his colleagues from Southern IFCA who were out with their drone monitoring fishing activities in the area. They were so kind and friendly and spent time talking to our residents about what they were doing and the drone. They showed us pictures of ourselves on the monitor from the drone high in the sky, the even switched the infrared setting so we could see the heat sources we were putting out. It was really fascinating, the residents had such a great time so we would like to say a huge thank you to Kyle and his colleagues for taking the time to make our residents trip so special.
