Activities at Pinetree Care Home

Activities are an integral part of life at our care home. We want to ensure that the people we support have as much fun as possible during their time with us, so it’s important that our activities programme is created with the interests of residents in mind. Our skilled Activities Coordinators bring a certain uniqueness to the home that can’t be found anywhere else, and which is reflected in the activities they organise.

Beth Hooper

Activities Lead

Hi my name is Beth and I am the activities co-ordinator

I have worked in care for the past 2 years as a carer and worked my way up to senior carer.  My main responsibilities were looking after the frail, terminally ill and residents living with dementia. I found this role incredibly rewarding and had a sense of pride every day that I was in a position to be able to make a difference to the lives of our residents.

One of the most rewarding parts of the job is getting to know the residents on an individual basis and really finding out about what they love to do so my new role as activities co-ordinator combines the two perfectly.  I love fun and laughter and finding new ways to enjoy life to the full. I am very excited about working a Pinetree and getting to know all of our residents

Team Pinetree begin training

Welcome team Pinetree.

This week our incredible staff team begin their 5 week induction training.

Caring for others requires compassion, dedication and patience – qualities upon which we’ve built our teams, with dedicated people who have the skills and experience to deliver the highest quality care in a care home environment. We provide full training and development opportunities so that our colleagues can get the most from their careers and be the best at what they do, and for those they care for.

Our experienced and dedicated team will be ready to deliver exceptional standards of compassionate care, which focusses on the individual needs of each resident.

All our teams receive a comprehensive blended induction that covers everything they need to succeed in their roles and deliver high-quality, personalised care for our residents. This thorough training ensures that every team member is well-prepared to meet the unique needs of each individual we care for.

Today was Emergency First Aid at Work training.

Pinetree's First Summer Fete

What a time we had. We are still buzzing from the amazing summer fete we held here at Pinetree.

We are so lucky to have been supported by so many local businesses donating raffle prizes and a PA system, local stall holders and the community coming to have fun with us.

We were joined by the amazing Southend Twirlers who gave us a show of all their special talents and the Chair of Rochford District Council to officially open our first ever summer fete.

Thanks once again to one and all. This is exactly how we envision life for our future residents enjoying special times with fun and laughter.

At Pinetree we are very community focused and cannot wait to open our doors to future residents and welcome the local community to enjoy the many different life enriching activities that we have planned.

Its wonderful for us to have the support of very special people within the area.

So thank you again.

Meet the team afternoon tea

Let’s get together.

Today at Pinetree we had a humbling afternoon when our future residents met our staff team, and each other, over an afternoon tea.

We know how difficult the move in to care could be especially into a new build home so we wanted to make that as easy and kind as possible.

Our first residents and their families got the opportunity today to meet the team and talk through any queries they may have.

Watching the residents form new friendships borne out of similar life situations left us in complete awe.

We are so proud of the wonderful team we have and how much they put into today.

Pinetree communities are named

Exciting news from our care home - we have had our communities named.

Thank you to everyone who participated in our community naming project! It's been incredible to see all the wonderful suggestions pouring in from our local community members and groups.

We are thrilled to announce the results:

Barrington Lane

Windmill Lane

Bellingham Lane

Your creativity and engagement have truly made a difference in shaping our new care home. We appreciate each and every one of you who contributed to this process.

Local Church group visits Pinetree

We had the complete privilege to host Reverend Jackie Turner and some of her parishioners to Pinetree today.

We all enjoyed some tea and cake and our guests took a tour of our beautiful home. We talked about how our residents will live well and still be involved in the community.

We discussed some fun engagement plans and also how important their faith is to some of our residents.

We are thrilled you have all become friends of Pinetree and very much look forward to seeing you all again soon.
