Activities at Pinetree Care Home
Our teams are trained to enrich the lives of residents through stimulating the mind, body and soul, and taking the time to learn about each person to ensure everyone receives support that adds enrichment to their life.
Activities are an integral part of life at our care home. We want to ensure that the people we support have as much fun as possible during their time with us, so it’s important that our activities programme is created with the interests of residents in mind. Our skilled Activities Coordinators bring a certain uniqueness to the home that can’t be found anywhere else, and which is reflected in the activities they organise.

Read our brochure ‘Life-enriching activities’ for more information about life in our care homes.

Feeding the Swans
A nice cup of tea and feeding the Swans, to blow the cobwebs away.
We were so lucky with the weather today. As we turned into Hullbridge the clouds partied and the sun came out, just for our lovely residents to enjoy their morning of fresh air.
The Landlord at the Anchor pub couldn’t have been more accommodating; he made sure we all had a lovely warm cup of tea whilst we chatted and reminisced about times gone by when our residents may have had days out like this with their children and grandchildren. They remarked on how lovely it was to spend time together and get to know each other.
Thank you to The Anchor, we will definitely be coming back.

Astronomy Talk
Today our wonderful residents, had the pleasure of meeting the extremely knowledgeable Quiller Hawkins, and enjoyed a talk and presentation about Astronomy.
Our residents asked lots of questions, and were fully engaged in learning about our world beyond planet Earth.
We were intrigued to find out that the moons surface would feel like flour!
One resident asked Quiller "would an apocalypse be possible and how would it happen"
Quiller was happy to answer the questions and was thrilled to see how engaged everyone was.
Enriching the lives of our residents, learning something new and engaging with each other are so important and we love how these sessions keep us stimulated all day.
Mexican Independence Day
First stop : converting our cinema to a plane trip to Mexico we watched the wonders of Mexico’s natural beauty, interesting historical artifacts and colourful fiestas.

Employee of the month - August
Mosaic Making
We have had the time of our lives today.
CBRE sent some incredible volunteers to spend time with our residents to make a mosaic that will be displayed on our garden wall for all to enjoy and will be unveiled at our first birthday party next week.
The mosaic is coming together nicely and is something our residents have taken great pride in. This will be a permanent feature within the home and will always be a reminder of the great people we work with and partnerships built during special times.
We will introduce the new piece during our birthday celebrations

St Nicholas Church Service with the Archdeacon
It was a pleasure to accompany our residents to church this morning. The Archdeacon lead the service, she and the whole St Nicholas team are so welcoming.
After the service we had lunch of; Shepherds Pie followed by Apple Crumble and Custard, and then a Cheese Board.
September Pet Therapy
Pet therapy
The residents just love it when animals come to visit the home. And I love seeing their smiles as they handle the animals. The residents were full of questions about the animals and praised Party Pets Linda Moore for her knowledge and condition of her animals - thank you Linda x.
The oxytocin flowing out of the lounge is intoxicating.
Simon and garfunkle
What an amazing evening we had at The Mill Arts and Events Centre in Rayleigh watching Shades of Simon.
A fabulous evening with lots of singing and a bit of dancing too. And we got to meet the band after too. Thank you so much Shades of Simon.
Keepsakes
What a lovely way to record our staff and residents as a lovely memory

A family affair
Our lovely resident Eileen has been waiting for such a long time to go to her beautiful grand daughters wedding.
There have been months of planning outfits, shoe shopping, wedding chats and making sure she was glam ready.
Well, the day came and Eileen was a special guest at the stunning wedding and loved every second of it.
You looked amazing Eileen
