Activities at Cheshire Grange Care Home
The activities team are constantly striving to meet the varied needs of everyone who lives in our home, offering a wide range of group and individual social events. There are regular visits from entertainers, along with craft activities, baking, games & puzzle days and pampering sessions, which fill the week. However, we can always find time for outings and just spending that little bit of special time with residents who enjoy the peace and quiet. We aim to bring the activities to the individual, whilst making it a whole home experience.
Jo Eland
After originally starting at Cheshire Grange in May 2015, I'm delighted to be back in the role of Activities Coordinator. It is a privilege to be in this role and spend time, getting to know our ladies and gentleman and their loved one, whilst doing all the fun things that can make such a difference to their days.

Life at Cheshire Grange Care Home
Residents join V&A Exhibition virtually
We had a lovely time joining V&A Dundee curator, Kirsty Hassard, as she introduced us virtually to the history and design of night clubs and the club culture from the 1960s to present day.
We explored the evolution and development of night clubs around the world, from Italy to America, and closer to home, looked at their importance as cultural venues and designed spaces.
This current exhibition celebrates night clubs at a very important moment, as we all look to a brighter future where everyone can come back together, to dance and to enjoy nights out once again.
We all enjoyed the virtual talk.
Musical delights!
It was wonderful to welcome Deborah from Musical Delights back in person, she had been keeping our ladies and gents entertained throughout lockdown with themed DVDs, which were really good, but when Deborah and her bubbly personality arrived we knew we were in for a treat. Residents form all communities came together to sing and dance along to summertime songs and everyone including the Care Team Dance Troupe were ready for tea and cakes afterwards.
Exercise and laughter!
Chair based exercise session at Cheshire Grange are always a fun time, connecting with mind, body and soul. The residents learn why they are doing in certain exercise and how they will help with different parts of motor function, the benefits of the actual exercise and far more importantly the laughter which raises everybody’s spirits.
Lymm High School Youth Band
The students from Lymm High School visited us on a sunny morning as part of their Founders Day Celebrations, residents were treated to music and dance from the young performers and can’t wait to welcome them back later in the year.
V&A Dundee virtual event
We enjoyed a wonderful virtual introduction to the world of robots with V&A Dundee Curator, Kirsty Hassard.
Kirsty talked us through the history of robots and their early beginnings, the presentation traced the fascination of all things wired and wonderful and considered what the future might hold for our relationship with a multitude of mechanical machines.
It was absolutely thrilling to learn what robots can do now and what they might be able to do in the future.
Blenheim Palace
We had a lovely time exploring the amazing gardens of Blenheim Palace through a virtual talk, hosted by the Historian - Antonia Keaney.
We enjoyed a virtual look at how the gardens at Blenheim have developed over the past 300 years - from the formality of Henry Wise through to the ‘natural’ landscape created by Capability Brown and beyond.
Everyone was very impressed by the many jewels hidden within the 150 acres of beautiful gardens.
