Activities at Cheshire Grange Care Home

The activities team are constantly striving to meet the varied needs of everyone who lives in our home, offering a wide range of group and individual social events. There are regular visits from entertainers, along with craft activities, baking, games & puzzle days and pampering sessions, which fill the week. However, we can always find time for outings and just spending that little bit of special time with residents who enjoy the peace and quiet. We aim to bring the activities to the individual, whilst making it a whole home experience.

Life at Cheshire Grange Care Home

Beside the Seaside

We had a fun-filled afternoon as we celebrated all that is the great British Seaside. We watched a virtual Punch & Judy Show and sang along to summer songs, including 'We’re All Going On A Summer Holiday', whilst eating ice cream and homemade candy floss. We finished off the afternoon off with a fish & chip supper. There was much reminiscing about residents' seaside adventures from their childhood days and also as parents.

Tune into radio Cheshire Grange

We thought for Best Friends Day we would ask families and loved ones to send in song request with dedications to play on ‘Radio CG’ this was where Alexa came in very handy and we read out the requests DJ style. We had a great variety of music requested from The Mikado to Bob Marley  with many in between including Enya, Queen, Abba, Billy Joel and classical pieces. The residents loved hearing their songs which triggered lots of memories for them along with the messages from home. This was so successful we kept the play list, and continue to will add to it, and use a lot of the music as a background with our ladies and gents recognises tunes that they loved.

Lymm really does rock!

Once again Cheshire Grange have been overwhelmed by the generosity of their local community, the group Lymm Rocks, who paint pebbles and hide around the village for people to find, made a special delivery. Residents were delighted to have been given enough exquisitely painted pebbles reflecting residents interests and messages of warmth and love, for each resident to have one. It was decided that these pebbles were too beautiful not to share so a pebble garden was created allowing everyone to enjoy them along with visitors when they return. They have certainly added another dimension to our garden walks.

A Special Gift

Local company, KB Occasions, recently sent a special thank you to the care team at Cheshire Grange. 31 individually wrapped gift bangs and balloons were delivered to the home filled with sweet treats, bath bombs, candles, face packs and other treats as a thank you for the care given to her grandfather as a thank you for all that they do.

G&T Club

As the weather improved, our ladies were very happy to be able sit out and enjoy the warmth of the sun, and when a cheeky little gin & tonic was offered, well…what could a lady say?

Crazy Hair Day

The corridors of Cheshire Grange were brightened up with some colourful & crazy hair styles, as staff sported some weird and wonderful bouffants. This was not only to bring a smile to everyone’s faces, but to help raise funds for a local community initiative, set up by one of our carer's partners, to help families hardest hit by the current situation.

The day was a great success, and a total £145 was raised for the fund in-house on the day, along with over another £100 donated to the Just Giving page by families and friends who couldn’t join us.
