Activities at Corrina Lodge Care Home
Our teams are trained to enrich the lives of residents through stimulating the mind, body and soul, and taking the time to learn about each person to ensure everyone receives support that adds enrichment to their life.
We understand that the people we support have passions and interests that could be difficult to pursue after moving into a care home – but that doesn’t mean we don’t encourage them to try! Some hobbies can define a person, so our Activities Coordinators are dedicated to ensuring that everyone we support is able to do what makes them happy to the best of their abilities. Social events are organised with individual tastes in mind and with the idea that residents have the opportunity to try new and exciting things.

Life at Corrina Lodge Care Home

Burns' Night Celebrations
Our Corrina Community celebrated Burns Night in style. Teaming together with Rotary Club of Camberley, we hosted a charity fundraising event in aid of Air Ambulance Charity Kent Surrey Sussex
We were honoured to welcome back Mayor of Camberley, Cllr Pat Tedder, who joined us for the occasion.
Canapés we’re offered while Keith from Air Ambulance Charity Kent, Surrey and Sussex started the evening with an informative talk.
We then enjoyed traditional bagpipes performed by talented Bagpiper Colin.
Guests were then treated to an absolutely delicious menu of deep fried White Pudding and Haggis with a whisky sauce, followed by Cranachan and cheese & biscuits. Superbly cooked by Head Chef Kathleen, with Scottish Toastmasters Bob Nisbet and George Wallace providing entertainment and poetry.
Residents were involved in creating beautifully crafted table centre pieces and Robert Burns poetry scrolls to make the tables look beautiful.
An absolutely fantastic evening had by all. Together we raised an incredible £750 plus £365 from the charity raffle.
As a community our heartfelt thanks were shared to all that made this event so successful. President Elect Jennifer Thornton who worked tirelessly to help organise the event, Committee Chair Chrissie Lawson and Charles Barbor, General Manager Dumitru Varzaru, our wonderful Hospitality Team, friends, family and guests who attended, donations, raffle prizes and everyone else who made this event possible.
It truly was a wonderful evening of entertainment with family and friends coming together.

Tap about Town
Residents, family, friends and staff have had an absolutely wonderful afternoon with the super lovely and incredibly talented Katie who performed her Tap About Town Show for us all. Residents reminisced about their dancing days and enjoyed singed some familiar songs together.
We had a blast!

A beautigul performance by Miranda Juliet
A fabulously festive and musical day was enjoyed by the Corrina Family who were joined by the fantastic Miranda Juliet who serenaded our residents over lunch and then performed a lounge show to all the wonderful Christmas classics, which sounded absolutely beautiful with the soft violin melody. A joyous afternoon!

Christmas Light Switch On
We had an absolutely fabulous time at our Musical Extravaganza and celebrating our Christmas Lights Switch on with our very special guest, Mayor of Camberley, Cllr Pat Tedder
We were also joined by the fantastic The Small Strings Ukulele Band, who performed a fantastic mix of tunes that got us all into the festive spirit. Such a truly magical afternoon with young and old coming together to kick off the start of our festive events.

Lest We Forget...
On Armistice Day - the 11th day of the 11th hour on the 11th month, we all joined together to observe the two minutes silence to remember the fallen and make time to reflect.
The solemn occasion was then followed by a creative, handcrafting session, by making our own, individually designed poppies to wear with pride to watch the parade and Remembrance Service taking place on the Sunday nearest to 11 November at 11am each year at the Cenotaph, to commemorate British and Commonwealth servicemen and women who died in the two World Wars and later conflicts.

Remember remember the 5th of November
Here at Corrina Lodge, we celebrated Guy Fawkes on a perfectly dry, autumnal evening when we wrapped ourselves up to foray outdoors to enjoy cups of hot chocolate, topped with marshmallows, gathered together around the fire pit and drawing pretty patterns and arcs in the air, with our sparklers!
