Activities at Edgbaston Beaumont Care Home

Our team pride ourselves in providing a wide range of activities and events to suit all of our residents needs. Comprising of art and craft classes, pet therapy, outside entertainers, visits from local schools where students attend and work alongside ourselves and the residents. We also have presentations on wildlife and other demonstrations, musicality and singalongs, quizzes, a poetry corner, knit and natter sessions, and one to one interaction, as well as trips out in the mini bus. For our residents who are less mobile we bring the shopping experience to the home for their convenience. We respect everyone's religious beliefs by providing visits from all denominations, such as Anglican, Catholic, working in conjunction with the local mosque and the Jewish community and providing religious interaction. We encourage our residents families to participate in all our activities, working alongside them to ensure we provide the best service possible here at Edgbaston Beaumont.

Celia Palmer

Activity Coordinator

I’m Celia and I’m the Activity coordinator here at Edgbaston Beaumont.  I previously worked as an activity coordinator in a hostel and am enjoying the shift into the residential setting.  I have an arts background so enjoy painting and drawing in my spare time, which hopefully I can share my love for with the residents here.  I also enjoy reading, travel, live music and looking after my cats! And copious amounts of tea.

St Patrick's Day

Our residents enjoyed creating beautiful St Patrick’s themed wreaths and art work in the café. Everyone enjoyed a delicious Irish 3 course meal in our dining room, prepared by our excellent Chef Rosie. We had a selection of dishes available which included traditional Irish Stew, Colcannon and a Bailey’s cheesecake which was an absolute hit with the residents.

Lots of fun and laughter filled the air as we all enjoyed having an Irish Jig and sing along to ‘Belle of Belfast City’, ‘Lord of the Dance’, ‘Molly Malone’ & ‘The Irish Rover’ to name just a few. Residents waved Irish flags, wore hats and shook maracas to the music. Our staff got into the Irish spirit wearing green and everywhere was decorated for the occasion.

Centenary Celebration

We had a very exciting celebration here at Edgbaston... our lovely resident Edna turned 100 years old! Edna celebrated in style with her nearest and dearest in our function room which was decorated so beautifully with an amazing balloon arch, banners and bunting too.

Edna was delighted to be reunited with her family. She even had the opportunity to have a cuddle with her great grandson. Our Hospitality Team worked hard to create a delicious buffet which went down a treat with everyone. Head Chef, Sean, also made a delicious red velvet birthday cake for Edna and her loved ones to enjoy.

Edna had a wonderful day celebrating with her family and staff at Edgbaston. From all of us here we wish you a very Happy Birthday and congratulations on reaching such a milestone.

International Chocolate Cake Day!

With International Chocolate Cake Day approaching on the 27th January, our Head Chef Sean has treated all of our residents to a delicious homemade Chocolate cake.

With a rich chocolate frosting, a selection of black forest fruits on top and finished with a drizzle of dark chocolate it certainly is a moreish treat for us all.

Thank you Sean for spoiling us at the Beaumont!

A morning puzzle!

Here at Edgbaston Beaumont we love to start our days relaxing with a cup of tea whilst challenging ourselves to a puzzle.

Puzzles are not only great fun, they are also a wonderful way of keeping our minds sharp, improving our mood and a perfect way to lower stress levels.

Come and join us at the Beaumont for a morning of challenging fun!

Ladies that Lunch

We held 'Ladies that Lunch' today at Edgbaston Beaumont. Our residents love coming together in our beautiful dining room for a delicious meal and a chance to socialise. On today’s Menu we had Pea and mint soup, followed by a choice of either Cottage pie or Fisherman’s Pie. For dessert we had a lime drizzle sponge cake with vanilla ice cream. All prepared by our wonderful kitchen team. It was a fantastic start to a new week.

Playing the Piano

We wanted to share this beautiful story of one of our residents Una playing the piano.
Una began playing at the age of 5 and went on to playing the organ at the church where her parents were members of the choir. As a young woman she taught music and singing and loves sharing her joy with others.

Now at Edgbaston, Una wants to continue with this. Our residents love coming together and listening to her play. Thank you Una for sharing your love of music with us.
