Activities at Kenwyn Care Home

Activities are the cornerstone of a wholesome home experience and our Activities Coordinators are always putting their creative minds to the test by organising new and exciting social events for residents to partake in. Of course, we take into account the likes and dislikes of those we support, so if someone doesn’t feel like trying something new, there will always be something on offer to reflect their personal interests. For the people who may just prefer some peace and quiet instead, we also offer one-to-one time that can be enjoyed with a nice cup of coffee or just a simple chat – whatever they desire.

Life at Kenwyn Care Home

Hard work, determination and huge support wins the way....

This is Leslie, Leslie came to Kenwyn on the 11th of August 2022. When Leslie came to Kenwyn he couldn't walk and was bed bound, and had been in a variety of different hospitals around Cornwall after having an infection 3 years ago.

That was until Leslie came to Kenwyn. Since then Leslie has worked with 3 Physiotherapists, Amelia, Gemma and our Current Physiotherapist Mansoor. Leslie can now walk unaided back to his room from the dining room which is about 70-80 yards.

This is a huge accomplishment for Leslie and we are so incredibly proud of him and our wonderful Physiotherapist Mansoor. Leslie is hoping to make his way back to his flat in Falmouth with a care package in the upcoming months. He is a man of true resilience and determination.

We hold our hands up for you Leslie.

Employee of the Month - Mansoor Valinabu

A huge congratulations to our Employee of the Month! Mansoor Valinabu.

Mansoor has been such a wonderful addition to the team here at Kenwyn. He's been extremely dedicated to our residents since the beginning and we are so impressed with his work, especially with Leslie. (If you haven't seen our previous post, please check it out)

Congrats Mansoor!

Snow at Kenwyn

Kenwyn's residents stayed wrapped up and warm as they enjoyed the view of the winter wonderland outside in Kenwyn's gardens.

After Snow, comes light!

What a difference to the weather a few days can make.

Today in Kenwyn it felt like Spring was on the way. Such a beautiful, crisp Cornish morning.

If you like a room with a view, Kenwyn is your place.

Amongst these photos captured earlier today, we have the view from our restaurant taken as breakfast was served today and another view from one of our stunning lounges.

As you can see, a lot of fun was had!

Oll an Gwella - part of Newquay Male Voice Choir sing for Kenwyn!

We had a wonderful afternoon full of festive cheer thanks to the Acapella singing group Oll an Gwella (Members of NEWQUAY MALE VOICE CHOIR)

Our residents had such an amazing time listening to the carols and songs performed.

Stay tuned as we will upload a video and you'll be able to hear the wonderful voices of the choir.

Carols at Christmas time are timeless, Oll an Gwella really blessed us with the Christmas spirit yesterday and we look forward to welcoming them back in 2023.
