Activities at Kenwyn Care Home
Activities are the cornerstone of a wholesome home experience and our Activities Coordinators are always putting their creative minds to the test by organising new and exciting social events for residents to partake in. Of course, we take into account the likes and dislikes of those we support, so if someone doesn’t feel like trying something new, there will always be something on offer to reflect their personal interests. For the people who may just prefer some peace and quiet instead, we also offer one-to-one time that can be enjoyed with a nice cup of coffee or just a simple chat – whatever they desire.
Jools Wyngaard
South African born Jools joined the team here at Kenwyn in March 2023 as Activities Coordinator after she decided to try life in the UK with her partner.
Jools' background is in Fundraising and Digital Marketing however after witnessing her Grandmother live with Dementia has since always wanted to work more closely with the aged and vulnerable and enrich the lives of residents.
In her spare time Jools loves her animals and misses her cats who are with her family in South Africa.

Truro Bridges Community Cafe
Community Matters!
It's really important to us here at Kenwyn that we continue to support our local community.
Our Home Services Advisor Adele, last week attended Truro Bridges first Community Cafe.
It was a Simple Crafts session, but more than anything a chance to bring the community together to chat and support each other.
Do visit Truro Bridges Cafe at The Moresk Centre on Thursdays @2pm.
Recognising Alzheimer's Month with a supportive Dementia Cafe
World Alzheimer's Month is a global opportunity to raise awareness, educate, encourage support of and demystify Dementia. World Alzheimer’s Day takes place on 21 September as part of World Alzheimer's Month.
It was with great pleasure that in recognition of this at Kenwyn, we invited our local community, relatives and residents along to our Dementia Café.
Our wonderful nurse Adelina was on hand to support relatives and residents. Ade has huge experience and expertise around caring for residents who live with Dementia and she was more than happy to share some of her wisdom.
Our kitchen prepared wonderful homemade sweet treats and we all really enjoyed the morning.
We hope that interest in our café is such that we are able to make it a regular event.

Families and relatives are always welcome at Kenwyn and having a catch up whilst eating a cooling ice cream is a perfect way to spend those wonderful summer days.
Another Sunny week in Kenwyn
Another beautiful sunny week here at Kenwyn is drawing to a close.
We have had so much fun this week treating our residents in the sunshine.
We've had prosseco and strawberries on the patio (Much loved by the families).
We indulged in some cooling ice lollies (a favourite with our residents bringing back fond memories of summer days).
The sun really does bring out the biggest smiles here at Kenwyn, and we have loved every second of it.
Fantastic vocalist Rachel spends an afternoon in Kenwyn
External entertainment for our residents is a vital part of our programme here at Kenwyn. Having a variety of entertainment is always exciting and gives our residents something to look forward to every month. We had another successful afternoon with Rachel Best a regular performer here at Kenwyn. Our residents had such a wonderful afternoon of dancing and singing and listening to Rachel's wonderful vocals.
An Afternoon with Newquay Male Voice Choir
We were absolutely delighted to invite NEWQUAY MALE VOICE CHOIR to Kenwyn yesterday afternoon.
They certainly did not disappoint.
Residents gathered to enjoy an afternoon of fantastic vocals and fun from the renowned Cornish group.
