Activities at Lindum House Care Home
Our fantastic Activities Coordinators make sure that there is a full programme of social events to suit all interests and capabilities. They aim to not only to stimulate, but to ensure that everyone involved has lots of fun. We enjoy trips out visiting local places of interest or just to explore, which inevitably ends up with us having a lovely lunch somewhere.
There are regular concerts that we hold in the home that allows us to have a good old singalong, and our community links include the local churches, knit and natter groups and toddler groups coming in to see residents.
On a daily basis, everyone enjoys a variety of activities, including quizzes, bingo, arts and crafts, reminiscing and movement to music. We also host movie afternoons on the big screen which, of course, involves popcorn and ice cream at the interval!
Any residents who are unable to join us in the communal areas for activities have one-to-one time in their rooms, with us either reading to them, chatting or anything else they wish to do that’s within their capabilities.
Kelly Rolph
Hi there, I'm Kelly. My role at Lindum House ensures all of our residents always have lots of fun activities to look forward too.
I grew up down south, my parents worked in news trade & I've lived in many places! I've lived in hull for 20 years now, worked in health and social care for around 15 years, I started on care, worked through domestic, kitchen assistant and found my calling with activities!
I'm a super social person, enjoy being busy and sing in my spare time. I am part of a small singing charity group 'guise & gals'. I've been singing karaoke since I was 18 but never had the confidence to take it any further. I do, however, love putting on a show for our residents!
I'm a strong believer in 'treat people how you wish to be treated' everyone is different and it's important to focus on each individuals wants and needs, to encourage and nurture life, you only live once!
I'm full of energy, providing there is music... it's good for my soul!
Our residents smiles are my reward, it makes me so happy to see them enjoying them selves.

We all had a Whale of a time!
St Patricks Day
Happy St Patrick's Day from all at Lindum House
Residents started the day with celebrating Hydration and Nutrition - Fresh Fruit Friday!
To tie in with the theme, we made Rainbow Kebabs.
This afternoon, we were all had a fabulous treat when a group of young Irish Dancers came to dance for us - clapping along to the beat and we all said how brilliant they were. We sat there wearing our hats and waving the Irish Flags!
It was a great day enjoyed by all.
Visit from a furry friend!
To celebrate Crufts, Residents had a visit from a local Pets for Therapy Dog, Prudence.
They recounted stories of their own pets and really enjoyed the time spent cuddling Prudence. Residents had a great time having cuddles and finding out more about our little furry friend!
The Wallace Collection Virtual Talk
We had a lovely time joining Holly and Roxanne from the Wallace Collection for a virtual sensory talk in recognition of International Women’s Day.
The Wallace Collection a national museum in a historic London town house.
During the session, our residents had the opportunity to explore together two different, yet inspiring, women from the Collection, with music and discussion.
We all had a fantastic time and we truly enjoyed the immersive experience.
World Wildlife Day
Staff and residents took a walk on the wild side when they celebrated UN World Wildlife Day on 3rd March.
World Wildlife Day is an annual global event to celebrate and raise awareness of the world’s wild animals and plants. World Wildlife Day 2023 is celebrated under the theme ‘Partnerships for Wildlife Conservation’ to highlight the people who are making a difference and celebrate all conservation efforts from marine life and our oceans to collaborations with businesses which are helping to reverse the loss in biodiversity on our planet through sustainability and wildlife protection.
Residents had a brilliant time learning about all the different conservation efforts taking place throughout the world and throughout the UK. They found out about endangered species and what is being done to protect vulnerable species of wild animals and plants. To continue marking the day, residents filled up bird seed containers and then we wrapped up and took a walk round the gardens to place them.
