Activities at Lindum House Care Home
Our fantastic Activities Coordinators make sure that there is a full programme of social events to suit all interests and capabilities. They aim to not only to stimulate, but to ensure that everyone involved has lots of fun. We enjoy trips out visiting local places of interest or just to explore, which inevitably ends up with us having a lovely lunch somewhere.
There are regular concerts that we hold in the home that allows us to have a good old singalong, and our community links include the local churches, knit and natter groups and toddler groups coming in to see residents.
On a daily basis, everyone enjoys a variety of activities, including quizzes, bingo, arts and crafts, reminiscing and movement to music. We also host movie afternoons on the big screen which, of course, involves popcorn and ice cream at the interval!
Any residents who are unable to join us in the communal areas for activities have one-to-one time in their rooms, with us either reading to them, chatting or anything else they wish to do that’s within their capabilities.
Kelly Rolph
Hi there, I'm Kelly. My role at Lindum House ensures all of our residents always have lots of fun activities to look forward too.
I grew up down south, my parents worked in news trade & I've lived in many places! I've lived in hull for 20 years now, worked in health and social care for around 15 years, I started on care, worked through domestic, kitchen assistant and found my calling with activities!
I'm a super social person, enjoy being busy and sing in my spare time. I am part of a small singing charity group 'guise & gals'. I've been singing karaoke since I was 18 but never had the confidence to take it any further. I do, however, love putting on a show for our residents!
I'm a strong believer in 'treat people how you wish to be treated' everyone is different and it's important to focus on each individuals wants and needs, to encourage and nurture life, you only live once!
I'm full of energy, providing there is music... it's good for my soul!
Our residents smiles are my reward, it makes me so happy to see them enjoying them selves.

Life at Lindum House Care Home
'Flippin' fun for pancake day
As part of our Shrove Tuesday celebrations, we held a pancake flipping competition, to see who could flip the highest! Residents and staff all took part, with our very own carer ‘Michelle’ winning. It was a fun-filled activity and everyone showed a little friendly competitiveness.
The fun didn’t stop there, everyone enjoyed tucking into the delicious pancakes, with their favourite toppings. They also enjoyed learning fun facts about Shrove Tuesday.
Getting to know me fun
Residents enjoyed an engaging interaction, over a fantastic board game called ‘ call-to-mind’. Call-to-mind is a stimulating, people-centered board game that’s great to get everyone talking.
Around the board, young and old and everyone in-between get opportunities to tell each other their stories and connect in a fun, sometimes meaningful and often surprising way. Our residents really enjoyed this game, and it’s a fantastic activity to get people talking.
Residents enjoy virtual concert
Residents at Lindum House have enjoyed a fun-filled day filled with music. The day began with a virtual church service and the sound of hymns, followed by an afternoon streamed performance on the big screen from much loved singing legend – Neil Diamond – residents were delighted with the performance which saw them toe-tapping along to as their favourite songs were played.
Music is very important, especially in these uncertain times as it lifts our well-being. Our residents really enjoyed the virtual concert, especially as we are unable to at this time to have our entertainers join us in the home.
Giving thanks
At Lindum House care home, we have recently bid a fond well to Operations Manager, Catherine Campbell who has been supporting in the home. Catherine supported the home throughout the festive period and we wanted to say a ‘big thank you’ to Catherine as she moves to support another home in the division. Catherine was presented with a bouquet of beautiful colourful flowers and a small gift as a token of our appreciation. We wish Catherine well and good luck in her future work.
Badges of Pride
Here at Lindum House we are proudly wearing our ‘Badges of Pride’, given by Barchester Healthcare in recognition of leading by example, being together in our purpose, and having played our part in the fight against Covid19. The badges are being worn with pride to share our positive vaccine experience with our colleagues and others, so they can play their part too.
Burns Celebrations at Lindum House
Lindum House care home in Beverley prepared a traditional Burns Night Supper to the tune of bagpipes and the fun continued well into the wee small hours.
Staff and residents at the home were involved in a number of activities, with poetry recitals from Robert Burns virtually, Bagpipes and Highland Dancing. We also enjoyed tasting Haggis with a drop of Whiskey to mark the Scottish institution, including giving the time-honoured address to the ‘Great chieftain O’ the pudding’ race’ – the haggis.
General Manager, Catherine Campbell, at Lindum House, thought it was a perfect occasion to celebrate an evening steeped in age-old tradition as well as getting in a spot of Scotch whisky tasting, reading a selection of Burns’ poems and virtual tour of Edinburgh Castle and Balmoral Castle.
