Activities at Lydfords Care Home

We understand that the people we support have passions and interests that could be difficult to pursue after moving into a care home – but that doesn’t mean we don’t encourage them to try! Some hobbies can define a person, so our Activities Coordinators are dedicated to ensuring that everyone we support is able to do what makes them happy to the best of their abilities. Social events are organised with individual tastes in mind and with the idea that residents have the opportunity to try new and exciting things.

Residents Acts Of Kindness For The Local Community

Sam the Homes Services Advisor braved the rain to deliver 60 bunches of daffodils throughout Uckfield High Street. Residents at Lydfords helped make the bunches of flowers up to be given out to brighten up everyones day.
Sam visited some local shops and handed them out to passers by. The flowers were very well recieved and the residents were really pleased to hear that they made people smile.

Professional Lunch

Recently we hosted our first professional lunch at Lydfords. it was lovely to meet everyone that came. the Chef prepared a lovely light lunch for the event. It was a great way to meet other local businesses and professionals within the area. We gave a tour of our beautiful home and highlighted our garden Pavilion that was offered to be used to hold meetings free of charge.

We were also able to find out about courses that would be of interest to our residents. Ali kindly offered her services, as specialises in fitness and well-being for seniors with Freedom Leisure Centre and our residents have received a VIP invite to see the owls at Knockhatch Adventure Park later on in the year. Thank you for coming, your time and generosity.

Valentines Day Celebrations

Yesterday residents, family and guests enjoyed a lovely afternoon of live musical entertainment and sparkling afternoon tea prepared by the homes hospitalilty team.
The event took place in the downstairs Dining Room whilst Jacqueline Marsh performed a variety of songs. Everyone spent the afternoon, singing, chatting and dancing together.

Community Cafe

We had an enjoyable afternoon at our community cafe. We were joined by some local residents from the village and all enjoyed homemade cakes, tea and spent the afternoon getting to know it each other. Its a great way of meeting new people who have similar interests and exchanging stories.

Lunch At The Highlands Inn

Residents enjoyed a lovely pub lunch at the Highlands Inn. Everyone had a glass of their favourite tipple followed by a delicious meal. Ron and Kath used to eat there every week and so for them it was particularly special.
