Activites at Meadow Park Care Home
Our teams are trained to enrich the lives of residents through stimulating the mind, body and soul, and taking the time to learn about each person to ensure everyone receives support that adds enrichment to their life.
Activities are the cornerstone of a wholesome home experience and our Activities Coordinators are always putting their creative minds to the test by organising new and exciting social events for residents to partake in. Of course, we take into account the likes and dislikes of those we support, so if someone doesn’t feel like trying something new, there will always be something on offer to reflect their personal interests. For the people who may just prefer some peace and quiet instead, we also offer one-to-one time that can be enjoyed with a nice cup of coffee or just a simple chat – whatever they desire.

Residents enjoy the races
This week was dedicated to our ladies dusting down their fascinators and crafting their bonnets. Our Gentlemen reviewed the racing cards and chose their favourite horses, debating the winners and losers!
The sun was shining and the bubbles flowing and what better place to enjoy a glass of fizz than in the garden?

Sports Day
This week, in support of Tour De Barchester the team at Meadow Park held their very own Sports Day.
Egg & Spoon Races, Hula-Hoop spin-offs, Bean Bag Throwing and good fun had by all. Of course, no one was competitive. It was a fantastic day. Well Done Team Meadow Park!

Happy Fathers Day
Our lads enjoyed visits from their families and went out for some very special family time. In the afternoon, 'gents' only had some quiet time supping a beer, playing cards and listening to some of their favourite songs.

Birthday celebrations
Congratulations upon your big 91st Birthday, Sheila! Birthdays are a firm fixture in our social calendar and Sheila enjoyed many visits from her family and friends who came bearing gifts, cards and flowers.
Sheila was thrilled with her birthday cake and, of course, shared her home-made birthday cake at tea time with her friends.

A trip down memory lane
A book from the 1950s proved to be a popular talking point. Feeling and spraying perfume bottles from back in the day brought memories of favourite fragrances. Knitting patterns caused a stir. knit one purl two knitted baby matinée jackets. A tin box of trinkets was a hit with the gentlemen.
Residents enjoyed telling the team about their favourite foods, baking and cooking wholesome 'stodgy' meals for the family. These recipes will be shared as we have started to complete A Recipe Book of Memories.

Time for a cuppa
As part of Dementia Action week, we hosted a very special "time for a cuppa" which was organised by Annouska.
We welcomed at our coffee morning and we were delighted so many of you could join us. A big "Thank you" to Mary's family for providing a delicious home-made cream sponge and another "Thank you" to Gary for providing home-made scones and canapés. We were certainly spoilt with the sweet treats!

Dementia Action Week
Today was all about having fun and moving around, keeping fit, active and maintaining strength - from Badmington, Hoola Hoops, Skittles and Parachutes, interactive games enjoyed by all.
As part of our home's varied life enrichment programme, we host a number of popular group activities.
Easter Fun!
It was back to traditional methods today! Hard-boiled eggs decorated with paint, feathers and cotton wool. Residents remember helping their own children and grandchildren to prepare for Easter in their younger days.
Good Friday continued with Fish & Chips served up in newspapers with lashings of Salt & Vinegar! And, our ladies upstairs completed the final push to complete their bonnets in time for the grand finale this afternoon.

Music is magic at Easter
Music is the magic which brings us alive with feelings of love, friendship and joy. The Easter Bunny arrived in the middle of the party this afternoon, danced to the music and with our residents. Our ladies and gentlemen received an Easter Egg, and we hope they enjoy it.
The team of Meadow Park hope you have enjoyed our weekend of celebrations and, for those of our relatives who live in different parts of the country or in another country, Happy Easter and pleased you have been a part of our Community.
