Activites at Prestbury Beaumont Care Community
Our teams are trained to enrich the lives of residents through stimulating the mind, body and soul, and taking the time to learn about each person to ensure everyone receives support that adds enrichment to their life.
Our home is always full of life, and we can thank our wonderful Activities Coordinators for this. Dedication to creating a unique and interesting activities programme is what sets us apart from other homes. We always take into consideration that some people would prefer to pursue their own interests, which is why our team strive to incorporative activities that cater to a wide range of tastes and hobbies. Our trips out are always fun and exciting as well, and residents are guaranteed to return with stories to tell their loved ones!

Rebecca O’Donnell
Activities Coordinator
Hi, my name is Rebecca O’Donnell. I am head of Activities for Prestbury Beaumont. I have only been here for a short time and in that time, I have worked in various departments, including care, laundry and housekeeping.
In that time, I got to know all of our residents very well, which has helped me have a better understanding of their needs and how to support them in this role whilst ensuring they receive a fulfilling experience.
I am from the Cheshire area. I have been with my partner for nearly 20 years. We have four daughters, 1 grandson, dogs and granddogs and a horse we all adore. I like to travel and see new places, and I am looking forward to working here for a long time and furthering my skills.

Tour de Barchester 2025
Tour de Barchester 2025 – What an Incredible Ride!
From 10th to 13th June, the annual Tour de Barchester made its grand return – and what a journey it’s been.
Over 4 days, our amazing team, led by Simon McCall, Commercial Director, and Shona Conway, Project Co-ordinator, cycled an impressive 225 miles from Dumfries to Cheshire, stopping at 17 Barchester care homes along the way.
We were lucky enough to be their penultimate stop on the last day, and what a time we had! It was brilliant to see them knowing the hard work they had put into their week, and welcomed them in in the sunshine with ice lollies and refreshments at the ready We were also joined by David, The Mayor of Cheshire East Council who welcomed the cyclists to Prestbury Beaumont alongside our Residents before sending them off to their final stop at Adlington Manor Care Home - Barchester Healthcare
Together with colleagues, friends and members of the community, we’ve raised funds and awareness for Barchester's Charitable Foundation – and most importantly, brought smiles and plenty of fun to all involved.
A heartfelt thank you to everyone who participated and supported us. Here’s to next year’s ride!

Plane Spotting
Is it a bird? No, it's a plane! This morning we had a lovely trip to the airport pub hotel where we watched the planes coming in to land from Manchester Airport. We're very lucky to have such a fascinating stop not that far from us, so we took advantage of the clear and sunny morning to go and see who and what we could spot! We had teas and coffees, and most of all we had a amazing time! Lots of smiles and enjoyment for all.

Gawsworth Trip
This morning we took our residents on a visit to Gawsworth! We walked around the beautiful village, looking at the wonderful scenery and chatted to a local lady that recommended we visit Gawsworth Hub Community Café and Shop. We had refreshments and chatted with the excellent volunteer staff, we all had a lovely time and we will definitely be returning.
Gardening Club
Our residents really enjoyed this week's session of Gardening Club! This week's request was hanging baskets! They really wanted to make some more baskets to display around our gardens and the outside of our home. It was lots of fun, they chose which flowers they wanted to use and Chris, our Gardener, made sure they had everything they needed. Look at them all finished!
They look very bright and beautiful, and we had a great time making them.

A visit from the boys at Macclesfield FC!

VE Day
ConneX is Live!
As part of Barchester’s digital transformation, Prestbury Beaumont went live today with our new Customer Relationship Management system - ConneX.
ConneX supports and helps manage the journey from enquiry to admission with everything in the system connected together which supports us in providing an exceptional customer experience.
We celebrated the occassion by decorating our reception area and baking cupcakes for residents and their families to enjoy!
Knitting for Savanah
Our Head chef’s daughter, Holly, gave birth to a beautiful little girl, called Savanah, and our lovely residents wanted to knit her some hats and blankets that she could wear. Savanah was born twelve weeks early, at 706 grams, and had a valve that wasn’t closed on her heart. We were all really worried about her as she had been in hospital for 112 days and had been in five different hospital wards. However, Savanah had a lot of love and support around her and this meant that our lovely residents, including Liz, Audrey and Wendy, worked really hard to make sure baby Savanah had warm and cosy blankets she could cuddle into. She is now back home with her mum and the residents got to meet and cuddle her for the first time during their knit and natter activity last week.

Tea Time!
Calling all tea lovers! We decided to put on a tea tasting afternoon in order to wake everybody’s taste buds up. Some residents had mentioned they use to love herbal and flavoured tea so we started brewing loose tea in order to try and get the resident’s brains ticking as to what they thought they were drinking. Everybody scored each tea out of ten and came to the conclusion that they all loved Egyptian mint tea, which was the winner and scored a 7.5 out of 10!
