Activities at Shawford Springs Care Home
Our teams are trained to enrich the lives of residents through stimulating the mind, body and soul, and taking the time to learn about each person to ensure everyone receives support that adds enrichment to their life.
We understand that the people we support have passions and interests that could be difficult to pursue after moving into a care home – but that doesn’t mean we don’t encourage them to try! Some hobbies can define a person, so our Activities Coordinators are dedicated to ensuring that everyone we support is able to do what makes them happy to the best of their abilities. Social events are organised with individual tastes in mind and with the idea that residents have the opportunity to try new and exciting things.

Read our brochure ‘Life-enriching activities’ for more information about life in our care homes.

Residents and staff alike enjoyed a wonderful time singing and dancing along, creating cherished memories together.

A Magical New Forest Adventure
We embarked on a scenic journey through the enchanting New Forest, where nature and wildlife create unforgettable moments! Last week, our road trip unveiled the beauty of this stunning region, with free-roaming ponies, donkeys, cows, and charming pigs out for their seasonal pannage.
We wound through the picturesque villages of Bramshaw, Brook, and Fritham, soaking in the serene countryside. A delightful pause at Janesmoor Pond offered the perfect setting for tea, biscuits, and breathtaking views. It was a morning filled with wonder, wildlife, and great company - an adventure we can’t wait to share again.

Canal Boat Adventure
Our residents enjoyed an unforgettable day out in Odiham, cruising along the serene Basingstoke Canal aboard our own accessible canal boat. The sun was shining, and the tranquil waterways provided the perfect backdrop for a delightful day filled with joy and nostalgia.
As part of our Resident Wish Initiative, this special trip was organised to fulfil the heartfelt wish of our beloved resident, Tony. A passionate canal boat enthusiast, Tony fondly recalled his many happy holidays exploring the waterways. To honour his love for canal adventures, we arranged this bespoke outing, complete with a delicious picnic lunch on board, a lively sing-along, and an engaging quiz, all while taking in the picturesque views of the canal.
The day was filled with laughter, shared stories, and beautiful moments as Tony and our residents relived the magic of the waterways. Tony shared that the trip brought back cherished memories, making it a truly heart-warming experience for everyone involved.
We extend our heartfelt thanks to the wonderful team at the Accessible Boating Association for their support in making this day possible. Their dedication ensured the trip was safe, enjoyable, and accessible for all.
