Activities at Shawford Springs Care Home
Our teams are trained to enrich the lives of residents through stimulating the mind, body and soul, and taking the time to learn about each person to ensure everyone receives support that adds enrichment to their life.
We understand that the people we support have passions and interests that could be difficult to pursue after moving into a care home – but that doesn’t mean we don’t encourage them to try! Some hobbies can define a person, so our Activities Coordinators are dedicated to ensuring that everyone we support is able to do what makes them happy to the best of their abilities. Social events are organised with individual tastes in mind and with the idea that residents have the opportunity to try new and exciting things.
Joanne Gadd
Hello, I am Joanne. I have worked as an activities coordinator for over seven years. In that time I have built a wealth of skills, knowledge and experience in designing and implementing activities that will support the mind, body and soul. I have a passion for delivering person centred sessions and will strive to ensure our weekly programme is engaging for all. I love organising events and am continually looking for ways to connect with our local community.

Gardening club - looking forward to Spring
We run a regular gardening club here at Shawford Springs, our residents love being out in the fresh air, and keeping fit by digging, weeding and planting
Jeanette and David are two of our hardest working residents and they have been busy planting lots of bulbs in anticipation of warmer days and an abundance of colour .... we can't wait to see the results of wonderful cheery Daffodils in Springtime.
