Activities at Sherwood Court Care Home
Our home is always full of life, and we can thank our wonderful Activities Coordinators for this. Dedication to creating a unique and interesting activities programme is what sets us apart from other homes. We always take into consideration that some people would prefer to pursue their own interests, which is why our team strive to incorporative activities that cater to a wide range of tastes and hobbies. Our trips out are always fun and exciting as well, and residents are guaranteed to return with stories to tell their loved ones!

Life at Sherwood Court Care Home

Flower power
It was all about flower power here at Sherwood Court as our ladies enjoyed a morning of flower arranging, it was a fun way to pass the time enjoying good company, conversation over a cup of tea sharing their thoughts on the best flowers. This popular session enables residents to be creative and use their imagination, encouraging use of fingers and hands and a great stress reliever!

Birthday wishes!
Birthdays are a firm feature on the homes life enrichment programme here at Sherwood Court and we were delighted to wish our colleague, Marianna a very happy birthday and present her with a specially prepared birthday cake in appreciation and return the favour of all the cakes she very kindly bakes for our residents. Wishing you a very happy birthday, from everyone at Sherwood Court.

Best foot forward!
Residents, families and colleagues here at Sherwood Court are cheering on Head Chef, Gary Anson who will be putting on his lycra and trainers as he completes a 13.1 miles half marathon to raise funds for Barchester’s Charitable Foundation. Come on Gary – we are behind you!

Long Service Award
Sherwood Court are celebrating a Long Service Award. Lisa started at Barchester in August 2008 and has worked with residents and their relatives to ensure that their needs have been met over the years.
Elizabeth Brotherton, General Manager of Sherwood Court said: “We’re delighted to be celebrating 15 years of loyal service with Lisa. She has demonstrated her dedication and loyalty to this home and its residents year after year. I speak for all of us here at Sherwood Court when I say that I’m looking forward to many more years of working with Lisa!”

Mayfair of Nightingales
Residents across our services had a fantastic time joining Mandy Morrow for a virtual walking tour to learn about the ‘Herstory’ of Mayfair. The Mayfair of Nightingales may be long gone but it still holds a 20th century charm. Birthplace to the late Queen Elizabeth II, home to one of WWII's most decorated female war heroes and a tale of a wealthy Aristocrat and one of France's favourite designers.
We were delighted to take a walk down memory lane and discover stories from one of London's most iconic areas. The experience was truly enjoyed by all.

National Ice Cream Day
Residents across our homes had a fantastic time during a special live virtual event in celebration on National Ice Cream Day. Wall’s team took us on a great journey through history, sharing fascinating details about the brand since its launch in 1922. We learned about major innovations such as the introduction of Mr Whippy, Cornetto, Viennetta, Twister, and Carte d'Or.
Residents were treated to a singalong to Cornetto classic ads, an interactive quiz about fun Wall’s facts and best-of-all, an ice-cream tasting session. It was a delightful experience for everyone, especially our ice-cream lovers.
