Activities at Sherwood Court Care Home

Our home is always full of life, and we can thank our wonderful Activities Coordinators for this. Dedication to creating a unique and interesting activities programme is what sets us apart from other homes. We always take into consideration that some people would prefer to pursue their own interests, which is why our team strive to incorporative activities that cater to a wide range of tastes and hobbies. Our trips out are always fun and exciting as well, and residents are guaranteed to return with stories to tell their loved ones!

Life at Sherwood Court Care Home

Arts and Crafts

Here this afternoon at Sherwood Court, we avoided the wet weather by engaging in some Arts & Crafts. Family members joined in helping produce some fantastic art pieces including money boxes. Such a lovely way for our residents to enjoy doing what they loved to do growing up as children, residents talked about what their favourite type of art was and different ways to produce art. Some lovely pieces now displayed in their rooms.

Chinese New Year

Here today at Sherwood Court, our residents was treated to a delicious Chinese banquet meal, all prepared and served by our very own care assistant Jim-Li. Jim took up role in the kitchen alongside head chef Gary and between them served up the feast! Residents thoroughly enjoyed the meal that much that most had second helpings. Huge well done to the kitchen team for making this happen, thoroughly enjoyed by everyone.

1940s Music Performance

This afternoon at Sherwood Court, we were given an amazing 1940s war time favourites song performance by the brilliant Rachel mercer! Residents had wonderful magic one to one moments by the performer and it was so heart-warming to  see by staff and family members. Each resident was given a little memorabilia from Rachel which they used to engage with the music, what a way to draw an end to a busy Tuesday afternoon for Sherwood Court!

Budding new friendships

Here at Sherwood court, some of our new residents’ are coming together really well, enjoying a cuppa and flicking through magazines and thoroughly enjoying each other’s company. It is a beautiful way to see new residents come together as friends and support each other in their new surroundings. Enjoy your cuppas chaps, great to see the staff have done an excellent job of encouraging friendships.

Today here at Sherwood Court, we enjoyed music in minds by Abi, it was a great way to welcome new resident’s and stay warm and dry from the horrendous weather outside! After we finished music in minds, we then went on to make some lovely flower displays, which the flowers were kindly donated by a family member.
