Activities at Sherwood Court Care Home

Our home is always full of life, and we can thank our wonderful Activities Coordinators for this. Dedication to creating a unique and interesting activities programme is what sets us apart from other homes. We always take into consideration that some people would prefer to pursue their own interests, which is why our team strive to incorporative activities that cater to a wide range of tastes and hobbies. Our trips out are always fun and exciting as well, and residents are guaranteed to return with stories to tell their loved ones!

Today at Sherwood Court, we took some of our residents for a walk in the fresh air up to our local Asda, we was looking for gifts for one of our expecting carers and they loved looking around the baby clothes, we got back in time just for lunch then Abi paid a visit and sang some old tunes for us the sing along was amazing, and  music brings so much joy.

Running for charitable foundation

Sherwood Court Head Chef, Gary Anson recently completed the Great North run to raise funds for Barchester s Charitable Foundation.

Gary completed the 13.1 mile half marathon course in 2 hours 4 minutes and 48 seconds on Sunday 10th of September despite the weather. Well done Gary for raising money for such a worthy cause!

Doll therapy

Today at Sherwood Court, we have had a morning of games and puzzles including dominoes.

We have also used the baby dolls for a doll therapy which was thoroughly enjoyed, and it was so cute seeing our residents reactions, a lovely afternoon of fun and reminiscing  of days gone by for all.

Arts & Crafts

Here at Sherwood Court on a wet day the residents have been taking part in an afternoon of arts and crafts picking out an item to colour and display in there room, this took a lot of concentration but was a lot of fun.

Residents enjoyed hand eye coordination and said it took them back to school days that invoked memories of school days.
