Activities at Stamford Bridge Beaumont Care Home
Our teams are trained to enrich the lives of residents through stimulating the mind, body and soul, and taking the time to learn about each person to ensure everyone receives support that adds enrichment to their life.
The activity team within our home spend a lot of time committing themselves to organising a range of activities for residents. This includes, pet therapy, trips out to local places of interest, visits from entertainers and musicians, bingo, one to one pamper time, weekly quizzes, coffee mornings, arts and crafts and baking. Activities are considered to be a crucial aspect of our home as residents look forward to upcoming events. As a result, it is essential that our team work together with dedication, to ensure residents are entertained and involved in as many activities as possible.

Activities Lead
I have worked in the care sector for 36 years, initially working for the NHS at Brandesburton Hospital as a care assistant. When the hospital closed I transferred to Townend Court and continued as a care assistant on the forensic ward for people with a learning disability. It was whilst working with the Occupational therapists at Townend that I discovered my passion for engaging the patients in activities of their choosing, I’m quite artistic and creative so it was an easy transition
I have many years’ experience working with the older generation and those who live with dementia, Parkinson’s, Alzheimer’s and other diagnosis’.
I am really looking forward to bring both my experience and passion to my new role and to see the positive impact on our resident population.
Celebrating life at Stamford Bridge Beaumont Care Home

Home raises funds for local community pool
Staff and residents have taken part in a charity cake bake sale and tombola to raise money and help save the homes local swimming pool.
The Stamford Bridge Community Pool is an important part of the village, providing support to the whole community and is run by a committee of volunteers and in need of repair and funds to save it.
Residents, their relatives, staff and the general public are all supportive and behind the campaign to save, the home made over one hundred pounds on the day mainly from a very busy tombola and a fabulous cake stall with delicious home-made cakes prepared by the home’s hospitality team.

Easter preparations
Easter preparations are well underway here at Stamford Bridge Beaumont, we love the personal touch and our residents really enjoy hand making cards for their loved ones who always comment how special it is to know that somebody has taken the time to make such beautiful cards.
We all learn so much from each other during these activities, lots of little hints and tips get shared that have been learnt over the years and we have all put these into practice with fabulous results.
Tea Party at Stamford Bridge
We recently held a lovely afternoon tea party for our residents to enjoy. Not only did they enjoy it, they made most of the delicious food you can see in the pictures.
Everybody really enjoyed helping each other and the atmosphere in the room was so lovely, weather it was making the sandwiches and snacks or pouring the tea or prosecco everybody was fully involved and had a wonderful time.

Music and dancing
We had a fabulous time with our regular entertainer Jess from the amazing “Musical Moments”.
These sessions are so interactive and Jess really gets everybody involved. She’s so popular that some of our regular visitors time their visits so they can enjoy the fun alongside their loved ones as well.
Stepping Out in the Sun
Stepping out into the springtime sun. Our residents enjoyed the sunny conditions and spent time in the garden.
Our home Magnolia tree is a favourite amongst our residents and is a wonderful talking point.
Something new for us all to try
We recently welcomed Rowan from the Red Kite Drama group, who really engaged our residents and managed to bring out the acting skills in everybody. Who knew what fabulous actors we all were?
It was a very different activity for our residents but one that they thoroughly enjoyed and were really surprised by just how much they enjoyed it. We all had a really good laugh and are looking forward to Rowans' return in the very near future.
Home hosts Care Planning event
Our home was delighted to invite members of the local community to a seminar discussing the worries of future planning.
Visitors had the chance to meet impartial specialist’s, Carl, a solicitor from St. James Place in York, he was joined by Ella and Richard from Bryan Mills Funeral Directors, who discussed how to plan for the future. Topics included what it means to have a Power of Attorney, Wills and Estate Planning, right through to funeral planning and preparations.
Everybody join in!
We had the most amazing time with Hannah recently.
Not only does she sing beautifully whilst playing the piano, but she always gets as many people involved as possible, whether it’s singing, playing a musical instrument or just having a good laugh, she brings it all. All of our residents really enjoy going to her sessions and having the best of times.

Latte Fun and Ice Cream
Our residents and friends from the local community put to a "cool" new twist on their free monthly community café.
The usual gathering, received a special upgrade with a visit from a classic ice cream van. Residents and guests will have the chance to meet and chat over tea, coffee and assorted refreshments, with this month’s edition having the added treat of a fresh ice cream to enjoy in the sunshine.

Council Ward Surgery
Staff and residents at Stamford Bridge Beaumont care home welcomed neighbours and friends from the local community to a special edition of their weekly coffee morning on Wednesday 22nd April.
Local Councillor Dale Needham hosted the ward surgery as residents from the local community dropped in to meet Cllr Needham as they chatted over tea, coffee, and homemade cakes, and raised questions around local matters.
Dominoes Club
Our dominoes club is a weekly activity as requested by our residents, as well as trying new and different activities, they all enjoy having some regular favourites, with the dominoes club being a permanent fixture on a Friday afternoon.
As well as encouraging some very friendly rivalries, the club has formed some lovely friendships between people, and we usually end up with an audience as well who come along for the social aspect of the group, and a nice cup of tea or coffee as well.
Easter Cake Competiton
Excitement is running high at Stamford Bridge Beaumont in Stamford Bridge where residents and staff have been cooking up a storm to enter parent company Barchester Healthcare’s Easter Cake competition.
Details of the competition were announced earlier this year and the home has been busy coming up with, what they hope, will be a winning design.
