Activities at Stamford Bridge Beaumont Care Home
The activity team within our home spend a lot of time committing themselves to organising a range of activities for residents. This includes, pet therapy, trips out to local places of interest, visits from entertainers and musicians, bingo, one to one pamper time, weekly quizzes, coffee mornings, arts and crafts and baking. Activities are considered to be a crucial aspect of our home as residents look forward to upcoming events. As a result, it is essential that our team work together with dedication, to ensure residents are entertained and involved in as many activities as possible.
Michael Lythgoe
I have worked in the care sector for 36 years, initially working for the NHS at Brandesburton Hospital as a care assistant. When the hospital closed I transferred to Townend Court and continued as a care assistant on the forensic ward for people with a learning disability. It was whilst working with the Occupational therapists at Townend that I discovered my passion for engaging the patients in activities of their choosing, I’m quite artistic and creative so it was an easy transition
I have many years’ experience working with the older generation and those who live with dementia, Parkinson’s, Alzheimer’s and other diagnosis’.
I am really looking forward to bring both my experience and passion to my new role and to see the positive impact on our resident population.

Life at Stamford Bridge Beaumont Care Home
Charity Fashion Show
Stamford Bridge Beaumont was bang on trend this week when residents and their guests were treated to a fashion show. The home teamed up with Dunnington Branch of Cancer support to host a fashion show for residents and their relatives at the home.
On the day, models strutted down the catwalk at the home to show-off the clothes to the residents at the home. They enjoyed homemade scones and afternoon tea whilst models from the support group alongside some of the staff members at the home showcased the range of comfortable, nearly new fashion which many residents purchased.
Langlands Garden Centre
After a spot of shopping and admiring the plants we enjoyed lunch in the café at Langlands Garden Centre. A lovely day was had by all who went on the outing!
Out & About
We recently had a lovely outing to Balloon Tree Farm Shop and Café for some coffee and cake. Afterwards, we had a walk around and did some fruit picking for residents back at the home to enjoy.
Charity Cyclethon
Head of Unit, Vicky Newbold, is completing a charity cyclethon throughout July. Each day she will cycle to work ,which is in excess of 20 miles per day. All proceeds go towards Barchester's Charitable Foundation and Yorkshire Air Ambulance. Well done, Vicky! We are proud of your achievement.
15 Years of Service
We celebrated Margaret Mill's 15 years of service. Margaret is a registered nurse at the home. She was presented with a gold pin, shopping voucher and flowers. Congratulations Maragret!
The Magic Table
We are delighted to announce that we have just had a Magic Table installed, which is an interactive light projector, designed to support residents living with dementia by keeping them engaged through specialised games.
The light projections respond to hand and arm movement, allowing residents to stay stimulated and, most of all, have fun!
You can read more about it on this page.
