Activities at Stamford Bridge Beaumont Care Home
The activity team within our home spend a lot of time committing themselves to organising a range of activities for residents. This includes, pet therapy, trips out to local places of interest, visits from entertainers and musicians, bingo, one to one pamper time, weekly quizzes, coffee mornings, arts and crafts and baking. Activities are considered to be a crucial aspect of our home as residents look forward to upcoming events. As a result, it is essential that our team work together with dedication, to ensure residents are entertained and involved in as many activities as possible.
Michael Lythgoe
I have worked in the care sector for 36 years, initially working for the NHS at Brandesburton Hospital as a care assistant. When the hospital closed I transferred to Townend Court and continued as a care assistant on the forensic ward for people with a learning disability. It was whilst working with the Occupational therapists at Townend that I discovered my passion for engaging the patients in activities of their choosing, I’m quite artistic and creative so it was an easy transition
I have many years’ experience working with the older generation and those who live with dementia, Parkinson’s, Alzheimer’s and other diagnosis’.
I am really looking forward to bring both my experience and passion to my new role and to see the positive impact on our resident population.

Life at Stamford Bridge Beaumont Care Home
Tour de Yorkshire
We have all been supporting the Tour de Yorkshire, which has been fantastic to watch. Even though it didn't go through our village, we still decided to support the event by putting out our own yellow bike and rider.
The Easter Bunny
Over the Easter weekend, we had a very special visit from the Easter bunny. Katrina, aged 10, dressed up as the Easter bunny and went around our home to give each resident a chocolate Easter egg. The residents loved seeing her and thought she looked very cute and were very happy to receive an Easter egg. Thank you to Katrina for being an absolute star.
Easter Egg Hunt & Coffee Morning
We had a great Easter weekend here at the Beaumont; we hosted an Easter egg hunt for the children and a coffee morning. It was very well-supported and the kitchen staff made some lovely cakes and treats. We managed to raise around £150, which will go towards the residents' fund.
Our Fabulous Drag Queen Act
We had an absolutely fabulous visit from The Vintage Scene, who do class entertainment in care homes. They are a drag act and are very entertaining, and we had lots of fun watching them. Residents, staff and visitors really enjoyed their act; they were excellent and we have had some really great feedback regarding their visit.
Our Visit from George England
We had a fabulous visit from George England who came into our home and entertained us; he sang songs which we all knew and we sang along with him. It was lovely to see our residents enjoying themselves so much and having a great time.
Musical Fun with Ruth
We had a fabulous music session with Ruth Stangeway; we played instruments, had a sing along and played a few activity games - it was such a great afternoon!
