Activities at Stamford Bridge Beaumont Care Home
Our teams are trained to enrich the lives of residents through stimulating the mind, body and soul, and taking the time to learn about each person to ensure everyone receives support that adds enrichment to their life.
The activity team within our home spend a lot of time committing themselves to organising a range of activities for residents. This includes, pet therapy, trips out to local places of interest, visits from entertainers and musicians, bingo, one to one pamper time, weekly quizzes, coffee mornings, arts and crafts and baking. Activities are considered to be a crucial aspect of our home as residents look forward to upcoming events. As a result, it is essential that our team work together with dedication, to ensure residents are entertained and involved in as many activities as possible.

Activities Lead
I have worked in the care sector for 36 years, initially working for the NHS at Brandesburton Hospital as a care assistant. When the hospital closed I transferred to Townend Court and continued as a care assistant on the forensic ward for people with a learning disability. It was whilst working with the Occupational therapists at Townend that I discovered my passion for engaging the patients in activities of their choosing, I’m quite artistic and creative so it was an easy transition
I have many years’ experience working with the older generation and those who live with dementia, Parkinson’s, Alzheimer’s and other diagnosis’.
I am really looking forward to bring both my experience and passion to my new role and to see the positive impact on our resident population.
Celebrating life at Stamford Bridge Beaumont Care Home

The club that keeps on growing
Our residents are all really enjoying our regular breakfast clubs and not only because of the very tasty food, many of our wonderful staff will now pop in and sit and chat with the residents, turning the club into a really enjoyable social gathering. This last week we had to add more tables as it’s becoming so popular.

Community Choir Visit
Amazing celebrations
We were all so privileged to be able to share a very special day for one of our lovely residents who was 100 years young! We welcomed lots of family and friends into our Terrace lounge where the ladies favourite entertainers, Dark Moon were playing, there was an amazing cake made by our fabulous catering team and plenty of fizz to go round for everybody.
What a truly special afternoon, we are so fortunate to experience such truly special days and be an active part of the celebrations.
National Pizza Day
What could be better on a cold February day? Staff and residents at Barchester’s Stamford Bridge Beaumont care home in Stamford Bridge had a fantastic time celebrating National Pizza Day on February 9th, a brilliant excuse to sample lots of delicious, warming pizza!
Overseen by head chef Amy, staff and residents experimented with many different types of toppings and flavour combinations - from the exotic, to the classic and everything in between! Some people controversially added pineapple, others preferred spicier options, and some stuck to a good old Margherita
Home enjoy landmark celebrations!
Celebrations have been in full swing as one of its residents reaches her centenary in style.
Selina was joined by staff, relatives, friends and other residents as she received a telegram from the King in recognition of her landmark birthday. A party with Selina’s favourite entertainers, Dark Moon was arranged for her by the family and the staff team at Stamford Bridge Beaumont, there was champagne to toast this very special occasion and a special birthday cake made by the home’s catering team.
The birthday girl said: “To be surrounded by so many people that I love has made this day so special, I couldn’t have wished for a better birthday, thank you to everybody who arranged it and came to my party, you’ve all made me feel so very special”.
A lovely day!
Our residents had a lovely time on Valentine's Day, as well as decorating the home with beautiful hearts they also enjoyed a chocolate fountain with fruits of their choice. They also wrote down what love meant to them. It’s a very personal thing for everybody and we had some really touching answers.

Home host Wellbeing Event
We were delighted to host a special wellbeing event on Tuesday 3rd February, the home welcomed guest speaker Tina Hilpert, Tina is a qualified mental health coach and community engagement officer at Home Instead.
Tina spoke to guests and residents about how we can better support ourselves and look after our own wellbeing during a fascinating discussion.
The big garden birdwatch
Our residents recently enjoyed the Big Garden Birdwatch, we have been building up to it for some time, we listened to a very good talk arranged by Barchester with a member of the RSPB last week and made our own bird feeders ready for the big day.
We set everything up indoors and sat behind a large bay window in the warm and dry while the birds enjoyed the feeders in the cold and wet outdoors.
This activity really promoted conversation and lots of sharing of knowledge and peoples passion for nature really shone through.
We will send of our findings to the RSPB and when they are published we will all get together again to discuss them over a cuppa and a biscuit.
New Year, New Ear Community Event

Cream Tea - Meet the Manager
The home was delighted to welcome local professionals to their community ‘Meet the Manager – Cream Tea’ event.
Taking place on Friday 16th January. Professionals from various organisations within the community had the opportunity to meet Emma Smith, General Manager of Stamford Bridge Beaumont, take a tour of the newly opened residential unit and network with one another.
The home was delighted to welcome representatives from Home Instead, Bryan Mills Funeral Directors, Link Village Magazine and representation from Stamford in Bloom and the Community Choir.
From small seeds
Our residents recently joined in a really fun activity where they made their own greenhouses from cardboard and sandwich bags and planted their own broad beans which they could watch grow. This was a fabulous activity which was really enjoyed by everybody there and the next stage was to plant the broad beans out so they could grow on and can be enjoyed at a later date.
Our residents also really enjoyed decorating their own greenhouses, making them colourful and individually unique.
Cheese and Wine
Say it with flowers
We have a regular flower arranging group which as well as helping make the home look and smell beautiful, brings a real sense of joy and fun to our residents. We have a lot of conversations about different flowers and how peoples gardens looked when they were at home, the group really promotes positive social interactions and lots of our residents have become really good friends through coming to the group on a regular basis.
