Activities at Stamford Bridge Beaumont Care Home

The activity team within our home spend a lot of time committing themselves to organising a range of activities for residents. This includes, pet therapy, trips out to local places of interest, visits from entertainers and musicians, bingo, one to one pamper time, weekly quizzes, coffee mornings, arts and crafts and baking. Activities are considered to be a crucial aspect of our home as residents look forward to upcoming events. As a result, it is essential that our team work together with dedication, to ensure residents are entertained and involved in as many activities as possible.

Michael Lythgoe

Activities Lead

I have worked in the care sector for 36 years, initially working for the NHS at Brandesburton Hospital as a care assistant. When the hospital closed I transferred to Townend Court and continued as a care assistant on the forensic ward for people with a learning disability. It was whilst working with the Occupational therapists at Townend that I discovered my passion for engaging the patients in activities of their choosing, I’m quite artistic and creative so it was an easy transition

I have many years’ experience working with the older generation and those who live with dementia, Parkinson’s, Alzheimer’s and other diagnosis’.

I am really looking forward to bring both my experience and passion to my new role and to see the positive impact on our resident population.

Life at Stamford Bridge Beaumont Care Home

Felicity Visited Stamford Bridge

Felicity Visited Stamford Bridge

On Easter Sunday we had a special visitor to our home, a little girl called Felicity, she’s 9 years old and attends Leavening CP School. Felicity and her friends at school spent lots of time making cards for the residents at the home. On Sunday Felicity and her dad came into our home and gave the lovely cards out. The residents were absolutely thrilled with them and Felicity touched so many hearts with this kind gesture. I would like to say a big thank you to Felicity, her dad and friends at her school.

Our Easter Egg Hunt

Our Easter Egg Hunt

On Saturday we held our very own Easter Egg hunt here at Stamford Bridge, we had plenty of support from local families and friends who brought their children to enjoy Easter fun and get Easter eggs left by the Easter bunny. Thank you to everyone who supported us and also to the ones who helped to make it a great success. We raised £113 pounds for the resident fund from our chocolate raffle.

Birds of Prey Come to the Beaumont

We had such a lovely visit from the Bird of Prey Centre this week! They came to our home and brought three stunning owls, the residents enjoyed listening to interesting facts about them and even having a hold of them. These owls are used to having plenty of attentions and are handled quite often. The couple who came with the owls know their birds very well and talked about some interesting facts about them! We even got a chance to see the Eagle owl being fed, what an amazing experience for us all to see. Thank you to the bird of prey for visiting us, we all hope to see you again soon!
