Activities at Stamford Bridge Beaumont Care Home
The activity team within our home spend a lot of time committing themselves to organising a range of activities for residents. This includes, pet therapy, trips out to local places of interest, visits from entertainers and musicians, bingo, one to one pamper time, weekly quizzes, coffee mornings, arts and crafts and baking. Activities are considered to be a crucial aspect of our home as residents look forward to upcoming events. As a result, it is essential that our team work together with dedication, to ensure residents are entertained and involved in as many activities as possible.
Michael Lythgoe
I have worked in the care sector for 36 years, initially working for the NHS at Brandesburton Hospital as a care assistant. When the hospital closed I transferred to Townend Court and continued as a care assistant on the forensic ward for people with a learning disability. It was whilst working with the Occupational therapists at Townend that I discovered my passion for engaging the patients in activities of their choosing, I’m quite artistic and creative so it was an easy transition
I have many years’ experience working with the older generation and those who live with dementia, Parkinson’s, Alzheimer’s and other diagnosis’.
I am really looking forward to bring both my experience and passion to my new role and to see the positive impact on our resident population.

Life at Stamford Bridge Beaumont Care Home
Our Darts Competition
We thought it would be a nice change to a hold a darts competition in our residential community. Residents showed quite a lot of interest in this idea, and so, we had a few knock out rounds to start off with. Grace & Ann ended up facing off against each other in the final, with Ann coming out on top after a thrilling game.
Game of Darts
This week on our residential community, we decided to see if anyone would fancy a game of darts. We had plenty of residents wanting a go, and who had so much fun. We have decided to have a darts tournament soon and are really looking forward to it. Resident, Ann, who played for the first time in her life, was very good.
Ian Malcolm Sings in Our Home
Our monthly visit from Ian Malcolm was fabulous. We had such a fun time singing along with him. Ian has been coming to us every month for over a year now, so we have all gotten used to him and we look forward to his visits. One of our staff members even sang Islands in the Stream with him - it was brilliant
Thank you, Ian, for singing for us all.
Our Baking Session
Recently, we decided that we wanted to do some baking. The kitchen provided us with some ingredients and we set about making some currant buns. We had a lovely chat whilst doing this, talking about memories of helping our mums bake for the family. The buns we made tasted lovely and we all had a cup of tea and a chat afterwards.
Carla comes to sing in our home
We had a lovely afternoon with Carla who came to sing around our lovely home. Carla can move her equipment quite easily and brings the music to the less mobile residents; they seem to really enjoy listening to it and Carla really does interact with them to try and get them involved.
Playing games in our residential community
We always try to keep the residents active by encouraging lots of physical activity. We also ask them what they enjoy doing and bowls is a popular answer, as well as exercise with the football. There are daily exercise sessions every morning to help motivate residents for the day ahead.
