Tony Woolett, Director of Recruitment at Barchester and a judge for the Garden of the Year category said “The gardens are the pride and joy of The hospital has 4 separate wards and has lots of small spaces and what a lesson it was in what you can do with very little space and a lot of imagination. There was old tractor tyres for planters and the tiger and tractor paintings on the fences and I especially loved the cat made out an old care tyre. Each part of the garden is geared towards the residents in each ward and they all have a chance to play a part in making and maintaining the garden which makes a positive difference improving the self-esteem and wellbeing of all those involved.”
