Activities at Beaufort Grange Care Home
Our teams are trained to enrich the lives of residents through stimulating the mind, body and soul, and taking the time to learn about each person to ensure everyone receives support that adds enrichment to their life.
Activities are an integral part of life at our care home. We want to ensure that the people we support have as much fun as possible during their time with us, so it’s important that our activities programme is created with the interests of residents in mind. Our skilled Activities Coordinators bring a certain uniqueness to the home that can’t be found anywhere else, and which is reflected in the activities they organise.

Celebrating life at Beaufort Grange Care Home
A Special Celebration with Charly and Stuart
We recently had the joy of celebrating a very special moment with our wonderful Activities Coordinator, Charly, who recently tied the knot with her new husband, Stuart!
To share the happiness of their big day, Charly and Stuart paid a visit to our home, dressed in their wedding finery. It was a wonderful afternoon as they recreated their first dance right here in our lounge—complete with music, smiles, and a few happy tears from our residents and team alike.
Everyone joined in the celebration with glasses of champagne or Prosecco, toasting to love, laughter, and lifelong happiness. The couple then made their way around the home, visiting residents in their rooms and sharing their joy personally with those who couldn’t join the group gathering. The smiles on our residents’ faces said it all—what a wonderful memory for all of us to keep!
Charly is a much-loved member of our team, and it meant the world to us that she chose to include our residents in such an important part of her life. Congratulations again, Charly and Stuart—you brought so much love into our home, and we couldn’t be happier for you both!
Visit from a Local Fire Brigade
Residents and staff at our home had the pleasure of welcoming the fire brigade from Avon Fire& Rescue Service, turning an ordinary day into an exciting and educational experience. The visit from the friendly firefighters was a great opportunity to learn more about their important work.
Our Manager, Raji said: "Our local firefighters put their lives on the line every day to save our lives, loved ones and homes, and even our forests, cities and towns, so we were very honoured they decided to spend some of their precious time visiting our residents. I’d like to take the opportunity to let them know just how much we appreciate all that they do for us. We think they are truly wonderful human beings.”
One of our residents who particularly enjoyed the visit and reminisced about his days back in the Royal Air Force as a Fire Fighter, said: “It is terrifying going into a burning building to rescue someone, I think our fire crews are absolutely amazing and I can’t thank them enough for their service. They are all heroes in my eyes.”
We are very grateful to Avon Fire& Rescue Service and hoping they will visit us again some time soon.
A Birthday to Remember!
At Beaufort Grange, we believe in making birthday wishes come true—no matter how unique they may be! Recently, one of our lovely residents made a very special request for her birthday: to be visited by none other than the Butlers with Bums—and we were more than happy to make it happen!
The day was full of fun, laughter, and a little bit of cheeky charm as the Butler Mark arrived to surprise our birthday girl and the rest of the residents. Dressed to impress (well… almost!), the Butler brought plenty of personality, warmth, and good humour to the celebration. With respectful professionalism and a fantastic sense of fun, he helped make the day unforgettable.
Our residents couldn’t stop smiling—there was laughter echoing through the halls, lots of photos taken, and more than a few blushes! The birthday lady was absolutely thrilled, saying it was one of the best birthdays she’s ever had.
We always aim to make our care home feel like just that—a home, filled with love, joy, and meaningful moments. Special requests like this remind us how important it is to celebrate life at every stage and to keep the spark of fun alive. Here’s to more unforgettable memories and fabulous birthdays to come!
Creature Cuddles Brings Joy to Our Residents
We had a truly exciting day at Beaufort Grange when Creature Cuddles Animal Handling paid us a special visit! The event brought plenty of cuddles as residents got the chance to meet and interact with a variety of friendly animals.
The room was filled with excitement as residents were introduced to adorable ducklings, a gentle tortoise, a playful puppy, and even some fascinating insects and exotic creatures. Each animal sparked curiosity and joy, with residents asking questions, sharing stories, and enjoying the hands-on experience.
For many, the highlight was holding the fluffy ducklings and stroking the friendly puppy, while others were intrigued by the more unusual visitors like stick insects and reptiles. Creature Cuddles’ staff were fantastic—warm, knowledgeable, and patient, ensuring that everyone felt comfortable and engaged.
Animal therapy is known to lift spirits, encourage social interaction, and provide a calming, joyful experience—and this visit was no exception. It was a beautiful opportunity for residents to connect with nature, reminisce about pets they’ve loved, and simply enjoy a special moment.
Maypole Magic – A Joyful Dance Exercise Event
We recently welcomed Lauren, our wonderful dance exercise instructor, for a lively and memorable Maypole-themed workout —and what a fantastic event it was!
Residents gathered around the traditional Maypole, ready to move, laugh, and enjoy the music. Lauren led a gentle yet energising dance session, guiding everyone through fun routines designed to get the body moving and the spirits soaring. With colourful ribbons in hand, residents danced around the Maypole with enthusiasm, creating beautiful patterns and sharing plenty of joyful moments.
There were smiles all round as everyone got involved at their own pace, whether seated or standing. The music, movement, and lots of laughs brought a wonderful energy to the day, turning exercise into a celebration of togetherness and fun.
Many residents commented on how much they enjoyed the event and how great it felt to be active while doing something a little different. It was more than just a workout—it was a shared experience that brought laughter, movement, and community spirit to life.
A big thank you to Lauren for her enthusiasm and warmth. We’re already looking forward to her next visit!
Celebrating International Nurses Day
At Beaufort Grange, we were proud to celebrate International Nurses Day with heartfelt appreciation for our incredible nursing team. This special day was filled with gratitude, love, and joyful moments that truly reflected the deep bond between our staff and residents.
To show their appreciation, our residents took part in creating beautiful handmade cards and writing personal notes expressing their thanks. These touching messages were full of warmth and emotion, recognizing the tireless dedication and compassion of our nurses. Many residents also contributed to making stunning flower bouquets, filling the home with colour and fragrance.
On the morning of the celebration, our nurses were surprised with the thoughtful gifts. Each received a bouquet of fresh flowers and a collection of handwritten notes from the residents. It was a deeply emotional moment, with many smiles, laughter, and even a few happy tears.
We are incredibly proud of our nursing team and grateful for the unwavering care they provide each day. International Nurses Day gave us the perfect opportunity to pause and reflect on their impact—not just as healthcare professionals, but as cherished members of our care home family.
Thank you to all our nurses—your kindness and dedication do not go unnoticed.
Honouring VE Day with Music, Memories, and Celebration
We proudly celebrated VE Day with a heartfelt and joyful day of remembrance, music, and community spirit at our care home.
The home was beautifully decorated in red, white, and blue, setting the tone for a day filled with pride and nostalgia. Staff joined in the spirit by dressing in fabulous vintage-style outfits, bringing the 1940s era back to life and delighting our residents.
We kicked off the morning with a special performance by the talented D-Day Dollies, whose lively wartime classics and sweet harmonies had toes tapping and faces beaming. Their music stirred warm memories and created a lovely atmosphere to reflect on the courage and sacrifices of the past.
As the day continued, residents shared stories, enjoyed themed refreshments, and soaked in the patriotic spirit. The celebration continued into the evening with a stunning performance by saxophonist Alan, whose smooth and soulful melodies provided the perfect soundtrack to wind down the day.
One of our lovely residents, Pat, summed it up perfectly when she said, “I felt at the top of the world today.”
It was a truly special day—one that honoured the past while bringing joy and connection to the present. Thank you to everyone who helped make it so memorable.
Ballroom Magic on International Dance Day
We had an unforgettable time celebrating International Dance Day at our home with a joyful and energetic event that got everyone moving!
To mark the occasion, we were thrilled to welcome professional ballroom dancers Jenny and Terry, who brought their passion and expertise to our space. They began by showcasing a variety of ballroom styles, including the graceful waltz, the dramatic tango, and lively freestyle dances. Their elegance, coordination, and storytelling through movement captivated our audience and set the stage for a wonderful afternoon.
But the fun didn’t stop with the performance! Jenny and Terry also encouraged everyone to join in—and we did! Residents and staff alike took to the floor, swaying to the rhythm, trying out new steps, and sharing plenty of smiles and laughter along the way. Whether it was a careful waltz or a spontaneous freestyle groove, there was a sense of togetherness and celebration in every move.
Dance has a special way of bringing people together, lifting spirits, and encouraging self-expression—and this event did all of that and more. We’re so grateful to Jenny and Terry for sharing their talent and to everyone who participated for making it such a vibrant and heartwarming day.
We’re already looking forward to next year’s celebration!
Easter Celebrations!
This Easter was a delightful celebration at our care home! The residents had an absolute blast when the Easter Bunny paid a special visit, delivering a basket full of colourful Easter eggs. The excitement continued as local children joined us for an Easter egg hunt in our beautiful garden.
Laughter and joy filled the air as residents, staff, and visitors came together to enjoy the festivities. John, one of our residents, shared how much fun it was to see the children’s smiles and to participate in the hunt himself. It truly was a day of community spirit and joy, making cherished memories for everyone involved. Happy Easter!
