Activities at Boroughbridge Manor Care Home
Activities are the cornerstone of a wholesome home experience, and our Activities Coordinators are always putting their creative minds to the test by organising new and exciting social events for residents to partake in. Of course, we take into account the likes and dislikes of those we support, so if someone doesn’t feel like trying something new, there will always be something on offer to reflect their personal interests. For the people who may just prefer some peace and quiet instead, we also offer one-to-one time that can be enjoyed with a nice cup of coffee or just a simple chat – whatever they desire.

Hi my name is Shelbie, I have recently been promoted to Head of Activities here at Boroughbridge Manor.
I have worked at Boroughbridge Manor for 7 years, I love making our residents smile. I get great satisfaction knowing I have made someone’s day better!
Myself, Leoni and Suzanne have created a wonderful culture within Boroughbridge Manor and we work together to give our residents the best possible experiences.
We are here to ensure that residents enjoy an environment that is both stimulating and socially active. We ensure the team knows each residents' preferences, so that we can deliver a person-centred program of events and activities. We are extremely fortunate to have our very own minibus, we love taking the residents out for coffee, shopping and lots of fun trips out whether that be to the museum or the seaside.

Church Serviceboro
Residents and family members gathered in the lounge as we were visited by Rev Karen Gardiner from St James Church in Boroughbridge for a New Years service.
Thank you Karen for a lovely afternoon, we are incredibly lucky to have you visit us on a monthly basis and support our residents to continue to practice their religious beliefs
Namaste Morning
Our memory lane community were treated to a well deserved Namaste pamper.
Residents relaxed to soothing sounds of mindfulness music whilst enjoying hand massages, manicures, nail painting, scents of the aromatherapy diffuser and a good old fashioned natter.

Celebrations for the King of Rock & Roll
It is estimated that Elvis has sold over one billion records worldwide so to honour the undisputed King of Rock & Roll, we all enjoyed a fantastic day of music, fun and dancing, we even tried one of his favourite sandwiches; Peanut butter and banana.
Our residents found out some interesting facts about Elvis that they haven’t heard before, watched a short biography about the famous singer and actor and listened to some of his best hits.
Happy New Year
New Year’s Day is the perfect time to reflect on the past year and set goals for the future, so here at Boroughbridge Manor residents enjoyed making some of their own New Year resolutions.
We indulged in a delicious New Years Day lunch and then created our very own personalised time capsules using the Oomph Wellness activity book and finished

Christmas Day at Boroughbridge Manor
We had a fantastic day celebrating Christmas Day here at Boroughbridge Manor.
In the morning we welcomed Father Christmas who brought gifts to all our residents - everyone was busy opening their presents and enjoying a glass of bubbly before the festive feast, prepared by our talented chef and kitchen team.
After lunch, we tuned in to watch and listen to the King's speech. Our day was filled with joy, smiles, music and laughter.
Throughout the day, residents also enjoyed visits from their loved ones. It was a very busy day, but thoroughly enjoyed by all. The pictures say it all!
Christmas Photoshoot
We spread happiness throughout the home by having our own little festive photoshoot!
Residents and staff enjoyed using a variety of props to help us capture all the joy and excitement of the season.
Creating memories are one of our favourite things to do and being a part of these moments with the residents and team is incredibly special.
Definitely something to be cherished for years to come.
