Activities at Cherry Trees Care Home
Our activities team are constantly striving to mentally and physically stimulate those we support by organising group and individual social events for anyone and everyone to participate in. There are regular outings in the minibus to nearby places of interest, including the local theatre, as well as visits from Pat dogs, musicians and entertainers. We also host bingo, quiz and knitter natter afternoons that we encourage relatives and the local community to attend. Our Gentleman's Club is also open to non-residents every Thursday afternoon from 2:30pm, join us for a tipple of your choice, we have plenty of snacks and chats. For the ladies, our beauty salon provides; hairdressing and nail pampering, you too can enjoy a drink and some well-deserved 'me' time. Activities are one of the most important aspects of a care home, so it is essential that our team are dedicated to ensuring that residents are entertained, and that life at Cherry Trees is fun and active.

Life at Cherry Trees Care Home
Guy Fawkes Night
Guy Fawkes Night is one of our favourite nights of the year and what a night we had! Our residents and staff enjoyed Hotdogs, Jacket Potatoes and Hot Chocolate prepared by our fabulous kitchen team. It was smiles all-round as we enjoyed our sparklers in the court yard while drinking our hot chocolate to warm us on this cold night.
Andy Yapp Performance
Residents enjoyed a sing along with Andy Yapp and his guitar. Residents gathered in the lounge to be greeted with drinks and snacks whilst they listened to their favourite songs. Two of our residents even showed off their dance moves, much to everyone’s amusement.
Mamma Mia
We love a trip out in our minibus and this time we headed towards The Birmingham Hippodrome to see the amazing Mamma Mia. Residents and staff enjoyed singing along to all of the fantastic songs throughout the performance and seeing all of the lovely costumes. We always have a lovely time when visiting the Hippodrome and have many more performances booked in the diary.
Music Therapy
Here at Cherry Trees we try to keep as active as we can both in body and mind. We have a fantastic lady called Adele Willets who comes to deliver Music Therapy to our lovely residents . We love singing along to our favourite songs while moving our bodies to the relaxing music and playing musical instruments too.
Day out at The West Midland’s Safari Park
We has a fantastic day out at The West Midland’s Safari Park. The animals were adorable and our residents were especially taken by the baby Rhino. We has an extra special surprise when a Zebra came right up to the window of our Mini Bus to say hello. Before we went home we enjoyed a picnic in the park, it was a bit nippy but this did not stop us from enjoying ourselves.
Olympic Fun
We had a fantastic day celebrating the end of the Olympics on our Memory Lane Community. We played traditional games like Hula Hoop ,Tennis and Throw the Can, but to name a few. Residents especially enjoyed the Hula Hoop and there was lots of giggles whilst we all had a go. We concluded the day by treating ourselves to a slice of homemade cake prepared by our kitchen team which went down nicely with a cuppa.
