Activities at Elgar Court Care Home

Our activities team are great at building the activities programme around the likes and interests of the people we care for. Ensuring that our social events offer fun and adventure is part of the ethos of our home; it’s important that those we support can enjoy an active and social lifestyle. Of course, there will always be those who prefer peace and quiet, and in these instances, a cup of tea and a chat are always welcomed.

Kerrie Perks

Activities Leader

Hello, My name is Kerrie and I provide the unique life enrichment for residents at Elgar Court.  I moved to Malvern 12 years ago to live with my fiance and we have two tortoises and a snake.  I love to play Dungeons and Dragons with my friends.  I am very 'outdoorsy' and used to ride horses and compete nationally in athletics, specialising in track and field for Redditch and Bromsgrove athletics club.  In my spare time, I love being in the kitchen and making treats for my family.

Peter goes Digital

At our home we like to introduce residents to the wonders of modern technology. Here, Peter is creating magical mandalas using the painting app on our digital rainbow tablet and Roger is learning to use a laptop – “ You are never to old, but I’ll give it a go” Roger said!

Happy 1st Birthday to Elgar Court!

This weekend we celebrated our first year in our home – and what a year it has been!

Growing month by month, we have had the enormous pleasure of welcoming new residents and guests to Elgar Court. To celebrate this milestone, Councillor Clive Hooper who was the Mayor of Malvern and officially opened our home on 27 July 2023, returned to say a few words and also present home with the Malvern Civic Society Nomination Award for best new building in Malvern.

Cutting the wonderful cake, was Cherry, our first resident to move into Elgar Court. We were also particularly touched that our resident Roger, also wanted to give thanks to the life he and his partner Sheila have built with us.

Thank you to everyone in the community who came to Elgar Court to enjoy this special event with residents and staff.
