Activities at Field House Care Home
The Activities Coordinators here at Field House are always keen to learn about residents' interests and hobbies, tailoring meaningful activities to the likes and dislikes of those we support. Our mission is to ignite the past, appeal to current interests and embrace new ones, improving quality of life whilst stimulating the mind and senses. Activities are carried out via small groups or individually, supported by local volunteers. We have access to a range of local community facilities and nearby places of interest, prompting community engagement, and hold special events at the home, where we are entertained by guest vocalists and performers, with 'The Quiz Master' being a fan favourite.
Caroline Davis
Hi, I'm Caroline and I joined Field House in 2021 from another Barchester home. I have worked in care for the last 30 years and a big part of that has been with Barchester.
Here at Field House, I organise a variety of activities and social events within the home and in the community, such as gardening club arts and crafts, weekly exercise sessions along with live singers and musicians every month. We are also keen on regular outings to local landmarks, museums, cafes and shopping centres.
In my job, I'm able to develop excellent relationships with residents and their families providing the support they need. I am very passionate about my job role as it is very important to us as a team that every individual is able to live the life they wish and feel fulfilled in their everyday activities maintaining past hobbies and finding new ones.

Life at Field House Care Home
Get Barchester Moving
What better way to continue with Get Barchester Moving than invite our Nursary group to join us for a sports day activity. The children had a great time showing the residents how fast they could run and the residents cheered them on. Even the residents joined in with the egg and spoon race and bean bag race all finished off with ice cream and singing!
D Day 80th
"Don't we know how to have a party!" That was a comment from one of our ladies. On our 80th D Day Celebration we laughed, we shed a tear, and also had lots of fun being entertained by singer Kerry Young with her war time classics. Elizabeth asked at the end if Kerry could sing Run Rabbit Run for one last time as it brought back so many memories.
Wishing Well Wish Came True!
Joe had his wishing well wish come true last night he wanted to see The Mouse Trap at the theatre seven. He asked his friend Peter if he would like to join us. It was a fab night very much enjoyed by both men and they said the late night was definitely worth it.
Cuan House Wild Life Rescue
Field House residents had the most interesting talk from Cuan House wild life trust. Elizabeth had made a wish in the wishing well for a talk about Hedgehogs because of her love for them. And from the look on her face she wasn’t disappointed the Talk was just what she wanted and the slides and pictures really went down well.
Celebrating 200 years of Cadbury
An afternoon spent reminiscing and celebrating 200 years of Cadbury Chocolate. Thanks to the generous support of Cadbury, we received a delightful surprise memory bar box filled with Dairy milk bars wrapped in designs reflecting Cadbury's 200 year history. We had a wonderful time joining Cadbury for an interactive talk on their 200 year history. Our residents learnt interesting facts about the chocolate giant, shared memories and reminisced about our favourite sweet treats. We ended the event with tea and chocolate.
VE Day Celebrations
Well as Elizabeth said “don’t we know how to have a good party at Field House!” And we certainly do! Such a fantastic family we have here, and everyone enjoys having fun!
Our VE DAY CELEBRATIONS were a triumph! What can I say, the faces say it all and our chef Darren finished it off with a fantastic buffet that residents thought was fantastic.
